At least it'd pay for some more of those speakers that are used to pump 'atmosphere' into the stadium.

Good god Everton have been terrible since Man City went down to 10 men.

Everton can't seem to hold a lead, Man City were completely swarming us last night so we did incredibly well to only concede one - Which was just down to a poor clearance. Pickford has been really good.
We do need a bit of extra quality especially to see out games - Towards the end of the match with Ružomberok they too were peppering us with shots. We definately need to strengthen just a little bit more. We have some further tricky games ahead now, the depth of the team having to play so many matches in a week is going to be a telling sign...

Celtic 4-1 down with 20 mins to go. Shouldnt be able to throw away a 5 goal first leg advantage but they trying.

Great result for Chelsea considering all the pressure from the media.

I thought we'd get thumped, turns out we're still alright eh!

First time ever there have been 5 English teams in the CL group stages. Unlucky, Arsenal.

Sheesh. Some walks in the park for English teams group-wise so far. Except Spurs ofc.

United get Basel again. Spuds should be able to beat Dortmund. edit - Chelsea won't be looking forward to that flight to Azerbaijan.

Meh they spanked us a couple of seasons ago in the Europa round of 16. We *did* play the kids but I'm not confident of us getting out of this group at all. There should be some excellent match days though, I'm already looking into going down to the Bernabéu in October.

Some very good moves from City this window, especially if they can get Sanchez.

Everton had such a boisterous start to the transfer window, but it has petered out at a critical moment, especially as we're still short on some positions. The hell is going on, we have capable youth players for these positions but they have been loaned out, so what the eff...

Don't know what the fuck Barkley is doing, he has rejected contracts from Everton leading up to the final hour of deadline day, with a move to Chelsea imminent - To travel to London and end up rejecting the move. Did he have his heart set on Tottenham? All I know is now, Everton could be fucked. He will be free to leave next season, thus he will have cost us £25-30m, hopefully he will sign the extension we offered him now, but he'll be a right cock if he leaves next season on a free.

One you may have missed
In case you missed it earlier on, Borussia Dortmund have handed the number seven shirt vacated by Ousmane Dembele to an England youth international, after making the most left-field signing of transfer deadline day.

The German giants have signed Manchester City and England Under-17 forward Jadon Sancho for a fee in the region of £10m.

The 17-year-old - who wanted to leave Manchester - had stopped training with the club to force a move. City did not give him permission to speak to any British clubs and a long-term deal was agreed with German side Dortmund.

Sancho has not played a first-team game for anyone, but was a regular in City's youth sides last season - scoring 20 goals in 35 games

He's one of the most highly rated players in the English youth system, he's incredible.

He's a London boy and was apparently homesick. Spurs were heavily trying to get him (for £3m). It was all pretty much agreed with the player (he specifically said that he wanted to come to us) but City were dicks about it and wouldn't release him. Now he's gone to Germany, which will obviously help with his homesickness.

Meh. Neil Mellor scored more than a goal a game, like 70 in 55 at youth level, or something...

Because football is exactly the same now as it was 20 years ago. I know as a Liverpool fan you like talking about the past, though. :)

I'm confused, did Arsenal actually buy anyone? I am guessing these big prices bandied about were just to make it look like they intended to but had to mow the lawn at the last minute or something?
