Romero is a decent keeper and will do well, but I'm really baffled by the Valdes saga. He would have been great as a number 1 or 2.

Anyway, yes Romero is decent but he hasn't played since the Copa America and Johnstone played all of your pre-season matches I think. Neither of them is a match for A Motherfucking HarryKane.

You know what Mickey I would love Liverpool to win it, it would be brilliant. The passion they have is second to none in that area but I just can't see it this year. Lots of positives for us though. A draw would've been a fair result, United didn't have a shot on target until well into the 2nd half (and 1 corner iirc).

Chelsea seemed to be prone to allowing through balls a lot which could undo them against a fair few teams, whether its just start of the season tiredness we will see. Swansea played some excellent football too.

Costa was unlucky to not have a pen I thought, the defender got the ball and the man. Nailed on red card and pen though, cheers for the -2 points courtois!

For fucks sake 16 shots 3 on target no goals for us. 6 shots 2 on target and 2 goals for them. At least we have spent well and fixed our problems in the summer it would be embrassing to lose to West Ham at home on the first day of the season. Still might be. But I think we are a striker that does not miss 6-7 chances per match away. I do not think Giroud has had a great pre season but he still started. Some games he really his a cows arse with a banjo kind of player.

Yes you need a proper striker and have done for a while, the problem is good strikers cost a lot in transfer costs and wages.

It is only the first game but I can't help but feel a bit better today with Arsenal propping up the table after our performance yesterday

I will also say that the way Cech got caught out for the first goal wasn't something new, it has happened at Chelsea many times ever since he got kneed in the head in 2006 so defenders have to adjust to help in such circumstances.
