Even if what was going to happen was explained to her beforehand I doubt they're having a laugh about it. She's been made to look like a bit of a twat (and been demoted to boot) and she won't be happy about it.

Storm in a teacup imo, if a player had annoyed Jose to the same degree then commented about it on social media, I wouldn't expect to see them on the bench for the next game either. If it was any other member of staff I doubt this would be a story - it's only because it's Eva everyone's losing their shit.

The other member of the medical team who ran on the field on Saturday also probably won't be on the bench on Sunday, yet there seems to be a comparative lack of noise about that. I do wonder why.

So he can comment about her competence on TV, but she says "thank you for your support" on Facebook, and gets demoted. Notice a slight double standard here?

And just to be clear, its was the referee who called the medics on, and they have this thing called duty of care. If Mourinho wanted to have a go at anyone, its should have Hazard for being a big girl's blouse, but he can't do that because in other circumstances theatrics from his players is exactly what he wants.

I've got a lot of time for Mourinho as a manager, its impossible to deny his talent, but this whole business left a really sour taste.

Hang on a minute there, you're not suggesting the whole boss-employee dynamic is a bit one way in some areas? In other news, he didn't actually criticise her at any point - he criticised his medical team, of which she is one part of. The barbs were aimed at both her and Jon Fearn, who also will not be on the bench on Sunday, yet this seems to have been turned into Jose vs Eva (check out Callous's link for proof), and again, I do wonder why. Whilst Jose was out of line (part of the package with Jose if you ask me, for better or for worse), making her second ever social media post in the aftermath could quite easily have been seen as undermining the club, and they have a fairly strict policy about that. So Jose was in the wrong to criticise publicly, she was also a bit silly to comment on it.

Doctors/physios get re-assigned and moved around all the time without the media batting an eyelid - it's only because it's Eva anyone cares. So yes, I am noticing some double standards. Not the same ones as you however.

Of course its not a relationship of equals, but there's a pretty good rule of thumb here; praise in public, criticize in private. As soon as Mourinho decided public opprobrium was the way to go for his staff, he took away any moral right for the club to sanction staff for going public as well; but, let's be clear here, she went onto Facebook to say thank to all the people who'd gone to bat for her; she didn't get into a slanging match with Mourinho or anyone else at Chelsea. Was she "a bit silly" for making any comment at all? Probably, but the scale of offence between her comment and Mourinho's is massive.

My cynic gland is also on high alert because this is the second time this year the medical team at a club has been used as public deflection for poor performance, and given it was Pep Guardiola on that occasion, it just feels a bit "anything you can do I can do better..." Managers need to show a bit more class.

Hehehehe

I can't wait for Moruinho to appoint a new medical team, a player gets injured, but the staff are too scared to go and see if they're okay and the player gets permanent damage because they don't get instantly seen to - I can see the headlines now.

Head it towards the sideline you idiot. Did you learn nothing from when Neuer made the same mistake?

Tbh I'd rather have a blooter straight on the nose, on a cold December night, than have Wayne Rooney's digits

People stopped talking about his medic so Maureen has gone back to slagging off Wenger. Don't think he is very confident today.

We looked good in the second half until the 2nd goal went in, afterwards we've just looked lazy and shit.

I think Ivan is going to need to improve massively, he has looked very weak so far although none of our defence is up to the standard of last year...actually no one in the team is at the moment.

Zonal marking is just so dodgy and was proved today. I can only think of Chelsea out of the big clubs who still adopt this tactic.

I think Costa's bagage has shown him up in this game. Whenever you see him he is pushing or kicking someone he got pissed of and never seemed to calm himself down. He got played at his own game. I can't see why that was a yellow though. If he elbowed him on purpose then how is that not a red?

Costa is a bit of an oddity, yes he does get fouled quite a bit but at other times he is just going down a tad easy and moaning about it. To me he is going through a Drogba period, he will hopefully realise like Drogba that it is much better to use that strength to win battles rather than fall over.

Personally it was closer to being a red than a yellow, but shit happens.

Most of the time i line Rodgers, but other times I wonder what he is smoking. How Lallana even is in the squad after ladt week is baffling, and he is even starting!
