That's nice. Should see them make a few mil over the next few seasons then.

It remains to be seen how competent their manager is but I don't see them falling out of the Prem. They're not going to win anything but they're also not going to plummet.

It doesn't really matter how competent he is when they are essentially selling their entire first team.

Hearing a lot about Lukaku to Everton. So we're letting go a 21 year old home grown player for a 36 year old? if costa gets injured we're fucked. better be buying a new striker. no idea who we could get though. Hopefully it's not true.

I saw he was going on a 5 year contract and he tweeted "a new chapter" or something so it seems pretty far along...

Major fuck up by Maureen if true.

What on earth are they going to do if/when Costa gets injured? Use Torres? Drogba might be good for the odd game or super sub moment but if Costa gets a medium to long term injury they are buggered

I'm sure they'll manage. Most of their goals last season came from behind the striker anyway.

I'd imagine we'd sign another striker if Lukaku does go, especially if the rumoured fee is accurate (£27-30m). I'd like to see Lukaku be given a chance personally, but equally so I trust Mourinho's judge of character in terms of the building of the squad and Lukaku has shown on multiple occasions that he can be mentally suspect. With that said he's only 21, so it might be rather unfair to make such a judgement.

He's massively overhyped as a player, big and powerful, great finish, but his link up play is weak and he isn't great with his feet in general.

A great striker, with some proper coaching he could really turn out good, I think he should've been given a season in a Chelsea shirt.

Which is why we won nothing.

Seems like Sturridge all over again. Lukaku is possibly the best u21 striker in the world and the perfect back up striker. He's also homegrown, to replace him we have to find a nonexistant British striker or sell someone else in the squad.

Paper talk yesterday was Chelsea need to offload either 1 big player or a few little ones to bring the wages in line?

I think you're perhaps over rating him just a bit, what made him look better was partly because of how bad our attack force was last year. I think we've got a fairly good attacking midfield options, I also get the feeling it might of been partly an attitude problem between Jose and him.

Sturridge was made to look great by Suarez putting things on a plate for him last season too...

No pressure on Patrick Bamford to deliver then, I do hope Mourinho hasn't lost his marbles on this one

Maybe Cech is on his way out too, to balance the nationalities

Not too bothered abbout Lukaku if I'm honest. Gets a few goals but his attitude stinks - claims to be the complete striker, yet won't fight for his place against the striking greats like Torres or a 75 year old Samuel Eto'o?

Only way it does bother me is it leaves us a bit light of options up front - if Costa gets injured or goes through a dodgy run of form we're shafted.

He hasn't been given the chance to prove himself at Chelsea...

He has though, he had the option of all last season if he wanted. He decided that rather than stay to fight for his place against Torres and Eto'o (a battle a 4 year old Portuguese girl with leprosy could have won), he wanted to run off on loan again, to do the Big Fish Small Pond thing. Which is fine, but doesn't really show the kind of attitude expected at a Top 4 club.

That is massive money from Everton. And I think Chelsea have come off better in that deal £28m is more than he is worth, £15m-£20m tops imo.

£50m for Luiz, £28m for Lukaku and was it £18m for De Bruyne? Ridiculously good business, but we really need another backup striker now imo. If we get one, I'm super happy.

Doesn't Schurrle often play at a striker for Germany? Couldn't your lot play him there if people get injured etc?

Good player imo, but i doubt even man city would of parted with 28m if they were interested in him

Fucking Russian/Ukranian scum attacked the Copenhagen fans, first at their hotel and then at the ground during half time. They had to jump the fence and onto the running track to not get beaten up

Didn't get our flags though, fuckers!
