Since Arleta came on we have been really average. He should not be in our starting 11 anymore.

Looks like Everton are strengthening, or at least adding to their ranks which i'm happy to see, giving us a bit more depth.

Lukaku i'm very happy with obviously, i still remember getting him signing on last day of the deadline day last year and i was made up so much. I don't know if i feel £28m is on the excessive side though, thought early £20m's would have been a good buy but i'm still happy we managed to get him.

Besic seems to be a good signing also, seen a few Evertonians excited at it, and i'm sure under Martinez he can only improve further.

I'd like to perhaps strengthen our defence though, while i love Distin and Jagielka i'm thinking one of them may need to step aside, suppose John Stones will be playing a lot of games next season.

We thumped (a very average) Celtic 6-1 and we even scored their goal for them!

They were playing their kids because they just played a CL qualifier a few days ago but WHATEVER.

Watching the Arsenal game yesterday and Chambers looked really good at CB I think he has been bought for both CB cover and RB cover. Bellerin had a fantastic game as well and his attacking play was brilliant he linked up with Campbell who also had a good game. Sanogo I still don't think is good enough for 1 up front. Two of his goals were all Ramseys work and his hold up play is not the best. Sanogo as a poacher though is really good but we need to be playing a team where the two wingers and the CAM are all further up for field than him to get him to play like yesterday.

Ramsey looked fantastic again and when he came off we looked really Average and slow. Arteta really needs to leave now he does not play fast enough he slows everything down and tries to walk it about and often it kills our momentum.

Derby signed a player that we had on loan for last year for more than £1million(West Brom rejected £1million, so I'm assuming it's alot more)

For him to get injured and be out for the next 9 months.

Great pre season for us in the US. Played top teams and won, Roma, inter, real and lollerpool all beaten and a pointless trophy won to boot.

Biggest surprise for me is that Ashley Young has become "no longer shit". Let's see if it continues. United really need to buy some quality centre-backs though.

Probably did not mind the 70's and early 80's when lollerpool were one of the biggest in europe and winning everything. An awful lot of justification just to state the obvious, Chelski are big spenders.

Much as I hate to say it (and trust me, I really, really hate to say it), Liverpool's 70s and 80s success was far more about the players and the management than the money. They won the European Cup four times when it was a true knockout competition that relied on a top notch first XI rather than a massive squad that comes with the big bucks like you need for the CL. Its also why modern football is much more about the manager than the team, there are simply far more balls in the air. Of course that means you can't really criticise Chelsea (or City) because the only way you're ever going to break into the "big club"gang these days is by spending a shitload of money quickly; investing in youth or internal development is a non-starter (and I know you could make an argument for Barcelona and La Masia, but I doubt that model would work if Barcelona weren't already a big club), because you hemorrhage youth players who want to "win things" (e.g. get paid more) before you're ready to compete.

Webb was the best ref by a country mile, he was certainly the most consistent.
