As for the pundits calling for Luiz to have been sent off, all I can say is there's nothing in it but as it is David the press will raise a campaign to get him hung or electrocuted, something like that. We can't dispute the referee's decision, he's kept the game flowing and we're happy with that.

no worse then what others say, especially players who say much more and get away with it (IE Cesc asking how much that the referee had been paid)

Not surprised he was worried about this ref, it the same ref that gave a freekick for nothing that Terry scored from to win previous Chelsea-Man Utd game. He is probably the worse ref in the league. He gives so many soft/non-foul freekick/penalties. Infact isnt he miles ahead in the "penalties given" stats compared to other refs? He already given about a 12 penalties, lol.

Refs need to sort their own standards out before complaining about being slagged off. And the FA need to sort out their own rules in regards to what can and cant be said. Still think all refs should have to give a post-match conference where there a big screen tv behind them, any big decisions should then be played on the screen and the referee+other officials from the match need to state why they took the action they did

they need to earn respect - which they dont because there is no consistancy and they are not held accountable for their actions.
The FA force clubs to do interviews so that all the club decisions and actions can be questioned, yet the officials can just hide in a corner.

Nothing wrong with a ref going "i may got that wrong, but at the time i thought xxx" - that way you will respect the ref for admitting a mistake but giving reasons on decisions

There was only one way that match could go looking at the team selection. Pity Houlier didn't try, I reckon they will be OK in the prem this year (if that's why he did it). What annoys me most about him is that he always looks totally disinterested during the game - complete contrast to O'Neill who was constantly animated. Lol at the Villa fans at the end though.

Celtic\Rangers was much more entertaining. Three red cards for Rangers (including Diouf after full time I think, he just can't not be the antagonist) and a weird near-bustup between Lennon and McCoist that looked strangely amicable at first.

Just back from the Emirates. We got hammered but it's always nice to see another ground. Great to be part of 9,000 people outsinging the arsenal fans in a 60,000 seater. Never seen such a quiet crowd. Hope they go on to win it tho.
