Be interesting to see what ban Toure gets for failing a drugs test.

Be interesting to see what he's failed for, and if he comes up with an excuse for it :D

I wish I'd been doing that rather than watching that shambles!

Yeh I agree, if Mick had done the same considering Young/Downing's current form, I'd be absolutely writhing. Is it true Delph was played at left back?

Banned for a "specified substance". Means it a drug where there more chance of a non-doping explanation. Now just need to wait and see what they say. Bound to get some doc to state he was on medication

It will be some pointless ingredient in a diet or training supplement, see the case of the SPL player banned for a month recently.

Lot of sympathy with athletes and sports people on this kind of thing. The lists of banned substances are ridiculous, and it's very hard to find out just what is in your supplements and medicines a lot of the time. In the case of the SPL player the doping body recognised he was not at fault and took the substance unknowingly, after his own club had checked the supplement, yet he still had to serve a one month ban.

BBC Sport - Football - Hamilton's Simon Mensing serves ban after drugs test

edit:// The World Anti-Doping Agency defines a specified substance as one that is "more susceptible to a credible, non-doping explanation".
The Wada punishment for such a positive test ranges from a warning to a two-year ban.

This just gets better, it's apparently MUTV's fault and Fergie is now refusing to talk to them

Sir Alex Ferguson refuses to talk to MUTV after FA charge | Football | The Guardian

Quote from the report

"No official reason has been given for the latest exclusion but, within the club, there is a sense that the station should have been more alert to the possibility that Ferguson was in danger of talking himself into trouble rather than running the interview in full a few minutes after it was recorded."

Fergusons myopic views on referees is the problem here, nothing else...

It's no shock that sports governing bodies the world over are inconsistent and politically motivated now is it?

Rugby league is at the forefront of doping tests. They test pretty much everyone. Found with coke in your system? Tough shit, 2 year ban. None of this pussy footing about with 2 month bans etc

It's players like him and Scholes that the younger players should look up to.

Yep. Malaga's defense was a candy.

Great perfomance from Marcelo. He deserved the call from his national team.

"You see footballers with the flash cars, lots of money and nice house," said Giggs. "But for the players who win things, that doesn't come into the reckoning."

Erm, yeah..................

So you've missed the point, again.

Such a troll. Your bias is equal parts infuriating and pathetic. You can be a football fan of one team and still give respect to other teams and their players you know.

@ianprior ian prior Cracking interview by @sidlowe with Pepe Reina in tomorrow's Guardian, thoughtful and revelatory. But one which might worry #lfc fans

Time to get worried, AGAIN gah :p

Then again there are some really good youths out there, question is if any of them would be tempted by todays Liverpool :(

Ronaldo injured for a couple of weeks, expect Real Madrid to struggle. Ronaldo has 27 goals, their next top scorer has 6 ..

Haha that's ridiculous. I knew he was doing well but I didn't know he was carrying them!

Yup, for the second game in a row. Stephen Warnock's not wanted by Houllier and, reportedly, told him to stick something up his posterior -- and not in a nice way.

So we have to play a centre back or a central midfielder at left full back.

Hopefully the season will end soon and Houllier will do one. Absolutely useless waste of skin.

"Cadena Ser says the security staff member did not realise he had been stabbed until he was on the team bus."

Now that's a hard bastard.
