Didnt mean to imply xavi and scholes are similar... just that as scholes is basically on his way out (next year be his last) I would like a creative xavi type player that makes teh team tick to be his replacement

Ahh sorry dude, I thought you were comparing the way they played :)

Erm, there is the little matter of La Liga to decide. All you small time bitter Man United fans can still get some satisfaction if we fuck up. For Chodax its life or death. Hed take a trophyless Barcelona over United winning the PL :D

He was being asked about Arsenal and trophies or something and said "Hopefully now people will get off my back and can see why i've come here"

Congratulations to my town who have been promoted to the Blue Square conference. I think its the 4th time in 4 seasons now we have been promoted from basically the park leagues. Helps that we have a multi millionaire backer who is paying wages, football league players earn, but still lol. 4,000 turned up today, thats not far off your average chelsea champions league gate :D

For you united fans, we have a young lad playing for us, Jamie Mullan who was a regular in your reserves. I know the standard isnt even close, but jeez hes a cracking player.

Fleetwood Town? I went to our FA Cup 4th round qualifying match against Fleetwood this season, worst game of football I've ever been to I think, a terrible 0-0 draw. Then you bumped us out in the replay at your place :(

At least it's nearer and easier to get to than Barrow, I should be able to get to our away game at Fleetwood provided it's on a weekend :)

Sorry for the late post, haven't long got back from the game. Big congrats to Chelsea, worthy winners of the Premier League. I criticised them in the Mourinho era for winning without class, without entertaining -- certainly can't say the same this season, they've been quite amazing.

As for Villa I'm content enough with our season, and finishing ahead of Liverpool is quite fantastic. I believe we've got an away record as good as Chelsea's but our home form is dire. If we can just add some decent home form to our repetoire we really could give the top four a go next season. Here's hoping.

And I vote new thread for the World Cup.

Just watching the highlights on Sky and with this performance I'm now sure that i would not mind Barce getting Arshavin for £10-£15 mil. He does have class but he just looks like he can't be arsed.

I've noticed that with him as well.

Nice way to top a fantastic season off. Times we looked for heading down the pan, but a fantastic turn around in form and players has seen us stay up. Taking 6 off spurs, 4 off fulham, 2 from villa and coming so close against pool/utd.

Brilliant season from Doyle, Zubar, Craddock, Jarvis, Hanhemann, Berra, Jones, Milijas, and my player of the season, Karl Henry, an absolute solid rock in every game he played in, made the step-up to the prem better then anyone, odd thinking his head was being called for 2 seasons ago.

Bring on the next season and fucking relegating those boggie *****.

Now, time to get rid of the deadwood, I'd stick on the chopping board, Keogh, Maierhoffer, Iwelumo, Vokes, Surman, Halford, Friend, Shackell, Little, Hill, amongst others

Great work signing Guedioura (who's form has seen him make the Algerian WC prem squad) who has been fantastic for us, no surprise on his arrival has seen a huge turn around in form for us, such a rock in the midfield but has a cracking foot on him and all. An asset next season. Sneaky bids for Mancienne (another solid season, as a defensive mid this time) and maybe Keane for a homecoming?

Bring on the summer!

For some reason while drunk yesterday when i saw the 4th chelsea goal it reminded me of that bit in Revenge of the sith where yoda and the emperor in that lightning duel and the emperor gets the upper hand and starts laughing or smiling! Dont ask why i blame the drink!

Lol, that is probably the most mental thing I have read in this thread so far, even more than Carrick being world class. :D

Just been reading about Roy Keane. Yes his tirade against mick mccarthy at the world cup was funny, but this has to be my favourite quote

"when asked by his first international captain, Mick McCarthy, if he called his behaviour professional, Keane replied by asking if McCarthy called what he had a first touch"

 Legend
