It is quite scary readin about the clubs in debt but I wonder why Platini never points the finger at them? Anyway, thats a different discussion.

As for the main point, yes, you could argue it is like scotland, in that 2 clubs dominate with the rest, at a glass ceiling. However, I dont think revoking the Beckham law will see a stop to the best players in the world comming to Barca or Madrid. It just means they will have to earn what premier league players earn, but there are countless other factors that weigh in the favour of Barca/Real Madrid than premier league teams when it comes to star players deciding who they want to play for. This of course will be no help to the rest of la liga who will always be in the shadows of the big 2.

"In a few years our league will be average because it won't attract the world's best," complained Tebas. "It is the end of the league of the stars."

Haha he is saying his own league is full of Mercs who don't play there because its the best or for prestige but for money lol.

Hasnt that always been the case? :p

And Platini will never mention Spanish debts, he goes after English because he is basically racist towards us.

In his dreams. He is overreacting. They will still earn more in la liga even with the Beckham tax rate abolished. Even if they could earn a tiny bit more in the premier league, the galacticos of La Liga would stay where they are. Hell, even seria A is more of a pull than the premier league because La Liga players like it easy.

I've actually read numerous quotes from Platini criticising foreign club's spending, just not from any British media outlet.

yeah the British media do seem to avoid mentioning Platinis rants at other European clubs so they can keep him in the anti-english football niche

That's why i was surprised to read it it makes your league sound bad. It does sound like your league is in a lot of trouble. I wonder what Barce and RM will do if the other clubs continue to fall behind.

probably they will try to push for a european super league :p

Eventually they be playing sunday league teams with the way it is looking from that article. More teams in massive debt then premier league.

Yep and the League it self is in a shit state no combined tv deal possibility they only thing keeping our league as it is. If the top 4 could negotiate their own deals your Boltons Wigans and Burleys would be fucked.

City v Wigan has been dull as fuck. How we lost to both of these teams i'll never know :(

Wigan looked like a much stronge team until they had someone (wrongly) sent off. Then terrible goalkeeping gives City the advantage and it's game over. I'd be pissed if i was a Wigan fan, Tevez with the goals and he should have had 2 cards for diving so far.

Hmm, surely this 2 match ban from the suspended ban would be in addition to the ban for the straight red card?

Which could mean a 3-5match ban?

Be interesting to see if they give him just the 2 match though, i expect that they will leave it at that. Put if they do opens a world of pain for them in future as people could be on a suspended ban and get a red for a 3match ban offence and go "sorry you set a precident, i only need to serve my 1 match suspended ban ttfn".

....

Tonight is the night for the important match. Cant wait for it :D
Mind you, the arsenal vs barcelona game is almost as appealing but that one dont matter to me, just be some good football

....

And on a positive note for the FA... they for once didnt act like a bunch of idiots looking to penalise Man Utd when they dont penalise others (re: Rio gets a 3 match ban, Gerrard gets away with it. Rio gets an increased ban from appealing, Vermelean doesnt). Portions of the media (and Coyle) started a witch hunt on vidic, forgeting that there were blatent elbows unpunished and vidic's was an accident, and the FA actually said they taking no action against him for once.

I think Rio got banned on video evidence? So his appeal was along the lines of you watched the video wrong. TV ban came on the say so of a out of possession linesman hence why he did not get the increased ban. If it works for the FA in these circumstances it works for me :)

Messi Watch - Tuesday 30th March 2010

"You go to football to watch players like Messi. What he does is so beautiful it becomes art. What he does at his age, has never been seen before," The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying.

"To take the ball in the middle of the pitch and go score goals like he was in the school playground, it is just incredible. I was thinking a couple of years ago he couldn't go any higher, but I am conscious that today, he's on another planet," he said.

Rio's appeal was based on the many pieces of video evidence of similar (and worse) offenses that were not punished by the Referee or the FA retrospectively. Dont see how an appeal based on the FA's own lack of actions can be classed as Frivelous. Was just an excuse to ban him longer imo. lol.

The FA is an absolute mess, and to be quite honest they need to get some consistancy in their decision making (off the field more then on it, ie appeals, increased bans, retrospective punishment.)

Football is becoming larger and larger all the time, and if they dont get their act together soon then there could well be legal action taken against them. (believe clubs sign a document about not taking legal action against the FA, but not sure if this relates to just the international team, ie getting compensation for injuries etc, or the FA as a whole).
Teams could lose out on massive cash injections based on the decisions of the FA made off the field (give leeway to referee's as the FA can overturn red cards so it only affects one game not multiple).

edit:
I do my messi watch.

"To see a player like Messi pick up the ball on the right flank and cut inside, against a team that just stands of him like they did at times at the weekend. Is amazing to watch." Says corran

"Then to see him follow this up by ballooning the ball so much it pretty much leaves the stadium, from just 18yrds out on his favoured left foot is absolutely hilarous. It clearly shows he is not the infaliable god that some people try to make him out to be"

:p

<bored, in pain and cant decide how to distract>

Anyone seen the pictures of Vidic?

Cant believe Coyle would even dare to make a complaint when you see the mess that bolton made of Vidic's face.
Just hope his vision is perfectly clear for tonights match

Fulham situation is different.. they left out what? 3 players? Compared to resting the entire team basically.

THe FA now got to try and prove that the few players left out the team did not have a cold/slight knock/bruising that required a few days extra rest.
Aint gonna happen.

edit:
Ok 6 differences from the FA CUP team... well now, if they compare it to the FA cup team then they will have to start prosecuting arsenal and the rest of the big teams that play their youngsters in the early stages of the FA and League cup... as their next league game will have 6-11 changes in team
