If I open my window, I can hear Turambers tears from down the road.

That was a cracking cup tie. Could do without the replay being before the Carling Cup Final however. I wonder if O'Neill will be tempted to play the reserves, especially as we have another away tie to tricky opposition if we beat Palace.

Went up to the Reebok today, can't decide if I'm disappointed or pleased. Based on the first half we should've been dead and buried but after a much improved second half I can't help thinking we should've won, especially thanks to Huddlestone's missed penalty. I'm going to start a petition to ban penalties and just award a goal I think.

Best moment was when we were all singing "You're to fat to referee" at Phil Dowd, and he looked up and started waving his arms like a conductor :)

Here's the marvelous view I got, first time I've sat in the top tier at Bolton:

Total attendance of less than 14,000 is also pretty shocking, especially as my away ticket was only £15 so I imagine home tickets would've been about the same.

Strange lot those Notlob fans. They whined and whined about Megson and said they weren't going because of him and his "anti-football". However they've now got a manager who likes his team to play a bit ... and they still don't go. Bizarre!

Great stadium though, and all that space to put your feet up :D

Its not hard you have the choice of £15 out in the cold to watch Bolton or watch it for free on ITV :)

You can mute clyde tyldesly (thankfully) although it was funny when the idiot ITV producer decided to go to the feed of warnock ranting on the touch line, you'd have thought after the first, very vocal "fucking" they would have cut away, instead they stayed long enough for him to say it 3 times.

Also on itv hd it looks fucking class.

wonder how this is going to work, not reading into it BUT.... FIFA regulations state that no government can interfer with the running of a Football Associations business and surely this would somehow fall foul of that ruling. And with that, unless the government back out, would lead to England being banned from all Internation competition (possibly uefa competitions also).

Yes, exactly what I was thinking at the time Corran, FIFA do not take kindly to government interference.

However I do think that the pressure created by such a "threat" may lead to the league's putting their own houses in order.

BBC Sport - Football - Premier League ponders play-offs for Champions League

So a playoff-system is in discussion for a Champions League spot.

Isn't this quite hilarious considering Liverpool's dilemma? They're having trouble holding onto 4th place and then up pops this proposal which could grant them a shot even if they finish 7th?

;)

It's nothing to do with Liverpool Gray, it's simply a proposal put forward by one of the member clubs. The league have a duty to consider and vote an all proposals, no matter how silly they may seem.

This change would need 14 clubs to vote in favour, and could not be implemented for another 3 years, due to TV rights.

I don't think it's a silly idea tbh, it makes a lot of sense.

I don't like it mainly because we used it the last 3 years. But also like the Championship i hate the idea a team 20 points worse off in the league can get into a competition based on league form because of two good games.

If it breaks the top 4 dominance then I am all for it, even if means United pay the price from time to time.

tbh my first thought was the same as the previous poster. For the past few years the top 4 has been pretty much set. Do you think this would have been proposed 2 years ago? The answer is no it wouldn't have been. Just as when Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champs League and the rules were bent to allow them in the big clubs make sure they are looked after.

And it's a stupid idea, it could mean 8th in the league getting a Champions League spot. This will further devalue the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League etc.

Huge assumptions alert! Do you know which club proposed this idea? Who has said it was one of the big 4 clubs?

To be honest, give both domestic cup winners a CL spot and the 2 remaining for the league winner and runner up. Let the rest fight it out for Europa League spots.

What I said was "tbh my first thought was the same as the previous poster" and then proceeded to give my reasons for that.

I didn't say the idea came from one of the big 4 and you're right I don't know who proposed it, but then I didn't say anything about that in my post. You are reading more into my post than is there.

I still think it's a rubbish idea. But then I also think 4 teams from one country qualifying is also rubbish, it devalues all other competitions. Finishing 4th in the league is considered better than winning the FA Cup.
