Nope not a penalty at all Cesc spends a good 15 minutes gelling his hair and have every right to defend it. Plus it was never a free kick so never a penalty.

Exactly :p Neither was a penalty imo.

Considering what Micheal Shields went through, you would think he would have a bit more dignity. Instead he comes across as a right c***.

He probably was guilty.

The Everton V Chelsea game was just brilliant. End to end stuff with Chelsea counter attacking at a frightening speed and Everton throwing everything at them to stop them. There really is no better sight in football than Leon Osman and Timmy Cahill flying round like pesky flies making expensive egotistical mercenaries flail their arms about in disgust at the referee. It was brilliant watching the reactions of players like Zhirkov and Malouda when Everton were impeding them on their off the ball runs.

What I just don't get is what Everton did today that they didn't at the weekend. Everton could have scored 5 or 6 tonight and made chances with almost every spell of possession they had. Against Liverpool they only created one chance in the whole game. Tonight there was zero fear, Cahill was playing up front for most of it and the likes of Donovan, Osman, Arteta and Baines were flooding forward.

Tonight should, if the press were watching, throw a massive question mark over the head of John Terry. He was abused by King Louis tonight, he couldn't get near him. If Saha can control and manipulate him with that much ease, what will they do to him in the world cup? What would we do if the fancy dan foreigners discovered how ineffective Terry is with dealing with long diagonal balls?
Your description of the game is way off tbh. Wasnt end to end at all, both team basically took turns to have spells of pressure.

Also John Terry has one bad game after a brilliant season and it raises questions? Oh no! Wayne Rooney didnt score yesterday, he must be shit lets not take him to the World Cup!

Also it's a shame that scouser thug got out, blatently guilty and a ****.

Ask any Bulgarian if he did it, you will be hard pressed to find any that aren't convinced that he was guilty. Certainly when I visited Varna a few years ago and made some friends there all of them to a man/woman were utterly convinced that he was guilty but that the British press were applying undue pressure to have him released without compelling evidence.

What luck, Ashley Cole out for 3 months :/

Great for our title hopes, but a bit shit for England. Was hoping the key players stay fit, and stay in form. Hopefully he will be back for a few game sna build some form.

We've had huge injury problems, shows the depth of our squad that we are still challenging. As for luck, you make your own. The own goals for example, just shows how dangerous we are with balls into the box,

Anyone think the world cup might have an impact on the premiership run in given that players wont want to get injured and miss it and therefore might pull out of that tackle or declare themselves unfit when they might have ordinarily played with a niggle and thus miss important games?

That is bad luck, as much as I dislike him he is England's best left back. Hopefully Warnock will get himself fit and get a chance to impress. He's so much better at defending and attacking than Wayne 'Where's my Mrs' Bridge it is untrue.

For English players? No, I don't think any of the current squad are like that. For other nationalities? Maybe. Think it depends on the player.

edit:// Turamber. Defending yes, Warnock is better. But attacking? No, Bridge is better by far there, and on balance I'd rather Bridge get the nod. It's good to have competition though, and so Warnock being fit and pushing bridge does no harm.

giggs out with a broken arm now for utd. With this seasons form it is a shame to lose him, especially thanks to Nani being banned for 3 matches now due to his sending off.

Wings are probably our weakest area, but I spose this means that he go back to a 4-4-2 (bah - it like playing with 10men half the time due to berbatov's style), or park will get a run of games however he doesnt have that offensive threat of our other wide players.

Just as long as he doesnt play welbeck on the wing, he is a waste of space in 70% of the games he plays.
Hmm, wonder if this means Tosic will get a chance to push for squad position as Nani recent form has put that out of reach till now.

...
And MegaDave. If luck been going Man Utd's way then please explain how our defense has been so ravaged by injury? That has cost us many points. Our best 2 Centre backs have played something silly like 4 league games together.

Sure there been own goals going our way, but that comes from the sort of play and shows that we possess such danger and presence in the opponents box that they often forced into errors.

The only thing that can be classed as luck is the fact that the other teams have dropped points that you wouldnt have expected them too.

If pompey booted out next week all teams lose points they gained vs them, so united lose 6 and lose 8 GD, chelsea lose 3 and 1 GD

are you sure that is what will happen? Can you give me a link to the rules etc?

I think it is more likely that points will be awarded to the teams yet to play them etc as you cant penalise teams for others downfall.. mind you awarding 3 points to teams could be a killer.

pompey will still have players etc, so even if they get folded then there should be a way for the players to continue (without payment maybe?). Afteral they arent available for purchase so I can only think they will go into administration, docked points, administrators try to do something with selling the club and they continue as is till the season end (if they get the players to stay).

I think it is highly unlikely pompey will be wound up. It would be horrible for the premier league's image if it happened. It's also quite clear that a lot of buyers are waiting in the wings, hoping for a much lower price.

I can see them going into administration, and the administrators giving someone a very good deal for a championship club.

edit:// PLatini must be cumming all over the place at the moment. He's been harping on about clubs finances for years now. I think it's the one thing he is right about, although his model will probably never be accepted by clubs.

No shit...Terry is having some issues, now Cole is out and not forgetting we've still not got Essien back as yet.

that link is no good... no information on where they make the statement from.

I absolutely hate the fact papers do this. They should state the rule etc that covers the comments they make :(

You've got enough mid fielders to deal with essiens absence, Zhirkov is there if you need an attacking fullback, and Terry has not had any issues on the field. He has had one bad game as megadave pointed out, and saha is just one of those players that frustrates chelsea. Terry will be out for one game, a game he probably wouldn't have started anyway.

I know Essien and Cole are big players, but you have more than enough in the squad to deal with their loss.

Essien has dropped back into defence before, plus he has always been one of my favourite players and been a key player.

Terry seemed to be having issues on the pitch, could of just been a very rare game for him but who knows.

Cole again is another player who is unique, yes we've replacements but none match any of the players they replace.
