Actually, that may be related... I am sure I will be corrected pretty damned fast if I'm but what the heck... there has been significant movement in the exchange rate between EUR and USD over the past year, and if GOA have a fixed price to pay Mythic per user this shift in the exchange rate would not be at all insignificant. Paying (for example) 10 dollars for a user a year ago would have cost about 9 Euros, today it would cost 10.7, so I wonder if the change in exchange rate exposure is one of the reasons for the increase...

Before you say it I realise that isn't anything like 33% but it may be a factor

Except for the fact that they've tied you into it for 12 months so you effectively lose money if you decide to quit when the next new thing comes along. Oh and also takes advantage of the time value of money and increases cashflow.

GOA have done it again. Well, after over a year of playing, this looks like it's finally it. I'm buggered if I'm paying more money when they offer the kind of service you'd expect from a 3rd world prostitute.

Fair enough the prices are similar to USA but look at the difference in the amount of servers they have, they can play all three realms and I believe have co-op and few other bits. Plus all the support.

We have two servers and rightnow with a couple of events here and there.

My only point would be, look ahead. We all know SWG, WoW etc are on thier way, some are entering beta etc. What needs to be asked of each player to themselves is...

Once you got your answer, you know what to sub for.

In my case, when I first started I paid for a month. then i did a 3 month sub. then i did a 6 month sub. Now, I'm down to a month again, mainly cause of boredom, and being on the verge of giving up. In the last week or 2, things have been a lot better for me on the game, and that 12 month sub, does sound like a pretty good deal to me... anyway, thats just my side of things.

At least it's an extra choice for those that wish to take it...

Well tbh why not wait to see if they going to put an official message on the camelot-europe site. There they should explain why they raise the price and if we get any improved services.

If there is no such one, why don't we all send 1 email (per account) to GOA and complain/threaten to leave the game. A couple of thousand emails would make them think twice about raising the prices.

Heh, they could justify a price rise if GOA sorted out their customer support muppets - and maybe even provided in-game support.

Previously they could use the price difference with the US servers as some justification for the piss-poor customer support standards - but now with the prices being increased to virtually the same as US servers it seems they need a new excuse.

From the SI sales figures released recently we know GOA currently have well over 100,000 paying accounts. Hard to believe with subscription income in the region of €1,000,000 per month they require a price rise.

Ah well, Im dumb, Ill pay - at least for a while. And sadly GOA know thats exactly what the vast majority of us will do.

Well, didn't want to argue about the price increases because personally I don't feel they're excessive or totally unjustified... just think it's only fair to accept the fact that not everyone feels the same and that for some people an extra fiver/month is a considerable amount of money.

Remember as well - you now have 8 character slots per account and not just 4, this in itself is justification for me for a small subscription charge rise.

The 8 slots was worth buying si for not a sub hike imo.

As so many have said theres nothing new (or it seems that way) and their costs haven't risen dramatically infact technology prices should be heading down.

anyway current state of play is no new services/servers my sub finishes Im dusted with the game and will get a tan till swg or wow, in fact could put the savings towards a better pc.

Im just saying that this *IS* something new added to the game, ok so maybe you want more ?? but there is new stuff there.
