I just recently found out /groundset shows in log. /loc doesn't show in my log so I was unable to calculate how how far you could run in x seconds. Since i found out few days ago /groundset did show it. I did some tests. Spamming /groundset 1 macro @ speed 6. I included the complete caclulation in case some muppet warrior or ebay cow starts with bs replies

Max ToA'd sorcer = 1850 range + 185 = 2035
Max ToA'd healer = 1500 range + 150 = 1650
Difference = 385 range.

CAP speed of sorcer ( i.e. 386 dex +10% ToA spd + MoTA3 ) or 40% of 3sec = 1,2 seconds.

So a healer running at speed 6 has 1,2 seconds time before he can be mezzed (533x1,2seconds =639,6 range)

385 range advantage by the sorcer while a healer can run 639 range during those 1,2 seconds

A sorcer who gets CAP casttime (i.e. 40% of delve) has a cap of 1,2 seconds on his mez. afaik you need 386ish dex 10ToA haste and MoTa 3 to get this.

so that means
@ speed 6 a healer can run 639 range in 1,2 seconds
@ speed 5 a healer can run 476 range in 1,2 seconds

range advantage of sorcer with capped range vs healer with capped range = 385

If you want to do accurate comparisons, do a /time at the beginning and end of the log, because server time can speed up and slow down in relation to real time.

I've personally observed up to 25% variance in the speed at which the game plays basically, which influences castspeeds measured in real time. I do not think it influences run speeds however, since the client basically decides where your character is at a certain point in time and the mentioned variance is caused by fluctuations in server load (I imagine).

Worth testing with run speeds though

+ a sorc has to stand still first. You can offcourse instantly stand still but u still have to press the buton after u saw the enemy incoming what takes about 0.2 sec (even low considering most ppl don't have a reaction time that fast).

A healer has offcourse the same 0.2 sec noticing time, but he just keeps running so he doesn't 'lose' those seconds because he's not in range anyway.

Have you tried picking out sorc? First of al hes a much smaller target being at the back behind the others, then you gotta pick the sorc from the other casters. Its not hard with practise but it will take longer and give the sorc time to target anyone in the enemy grp and press mezz.

Nice test. Aussie's data are hard, cold numbers. Of course you have to weigh them in against the human factors, like reaction time, picking out the enemy driver (or CC or whatever), and doing the actual mechanics of hitting the mezz button. Those things being equal (i.e. streamlined to next to zero by equal amounts of skill on both sides), we still have the above numbers.

Of course, if the insta is down, the Mid CC is at a severe disadvantage; 50 or 55 base dex (+10 or +15 at creation) and dexterity rising as tertiary attribute means you are looking at around around 300 dex at level 50 before RAs and ToA caps. You will have severe difficulties hitting cast speed cap with this as a starting point, especially in NF when MotArt disappears, and you also have that 385 extra range advantage the sorcerer enjoys.
