Wait, your argument for pro-buff bots is that everybody has them, they're a part of the game, its a necessary evil. But you can't accept that sheers could also fall into that category?

especially ones that dont even fight back just sheer and then sit for death.
Anyones else have bad experiences with this kind of stuff?

Don't attack them if you cant handle them.
Stealth classes are lucky enough to be able to choose who they can attack and who they can't, its really simple, if you cant cope with them, or kill them, dont attack.
Now if a visible class made this thread, they might have a point but as a stealther has, its not even worth arguing about.

Buffshear spells are one of the many things that are "balanced" I guess in FG action but have disproportionate effect on the smaller game.
Saw a US vid of a convoker druid taking on multiple opponents with root, buffshear and the ML'ed pet.
Was quite "impressive" that a pure group class could solo so well.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Soldier1: you got them good!!
Soldier2: shit, you killed one of them
Soldier3: ffs
Bahumat said:This thread made me laugh, people dont like it that a class which can buff, can also shear buffs.
what does it matter if he shears you and then sits down, you still get your rp's....oh wait, you wanna be able to pwn him without taking any dmg or loosing any buffs.
as for the full groups shearing solo'ers thats fucking awesome! in real war you throw grenades...not to kill opponents, but to maim them, and then make the other soldiers have to carry their wounded thus slowing them down.
If they shear a stealther it means he has to spend time suiciding or running back to rebuff. that will make him spend far more time than simply killing him and knowing he will be back out there in a few minutes.
Its part of the game mechanics, it may not be something you like, but its not breaking any rules. Also the people who "waste other players time" are actually helping their realm.

Shike said:in a game where all sides are equally populated and you also have a constant flow of action allover the place and there is an actual WAR, your argument is solid but DAoC isnt really that since the introduction of RP's so.. cant really agree with you. Shearing is annoying but there are far more irritating things out there imo, like.. zergers, adders, griefers etc. Griefing in any form though in todays DAoC doesnt maim the "enemy" anymore, it cause people to leave the game since it further adds to the crappiness state of the game for alot of people so I guess in one way you are right, if maiming = enemyplayers quit the game then yea, you are right. I guess thats one way to play![]()
ebenezer said:Imo its all in the way people think when they execute and action.
First of all for me a thing happening in game doesnt really bother me that much....all is fair in love and war.
Even though i usually play "fair"
Same with adding/sheering etc. if people add on me cause they really play like that , i dont think about it much.
Griefing goes much deeper. Its when someone goes out of the way to destroy my gaming experience.
That doesnt happen very often..
Situasion when i DO think it happends, are when a buff sheerer class know he isnt even gonna be in a fight with me.
And just decides to sheer me cause he know he destroys my run...
Also when a fg or more runs by and im sitting down/dancing etc,
- and they just wack me down and emtoes me
Thats when i think people can think a bit^^

Buff shears is one of the best things in this game not for soloers but in fg rvr. Having a timer on bs or so would just be shit. With good support the other grp gets sheard fast and your own grp gets rebuffed much, much faster then a silly timer(say 3 min). Having shears on cleric, shammy and druids is just great but no other classes should have it (hello valk's, tic's).Kagato said:Buff shears should never of been added in any form. Simply no point in fighting a buff shear class, even if you win you still lose as you have to return back to the boarderkeep regardless. probably just to get jumped by other fully buffed enemies who do/don't know your sheared and will think they had an easy win.

Runing behind a ranger by the water from Surbr Tower to Caer Erasleigh+ keep to finally kill her xD but is not the fun, it is that the ranger had a guard hiting her all the way in water, me on horse and still i cant cacht her XD; could swim to Dun Bolg or something, but i think she had to much shame of herself thinking that the Wizz could start think rare things if this X-file went on more in time ...
