buffsheer is the most lame thing in the game atm...

they should make it a debuff so you lose the effectiveness of the buff for like 3mins or something so at least you don't need to suicide to rebuff...

Another useful thread by censi.

And a wonderful contribution to the thread by yourself.

Buffshear spells are one of the many things that are "balanced" I guess in FG action but have disproportionate effect on the smaller game.

Saw a US vid of a convoker druid taking on multiple opponents with root, buffshear and the ML'ed pet.

Was quite "impressive" that a pure group class could solo so well.

Working as intended tbh.
Don't attack them if you cant handle them.
Stealth classes are lucky enough to be able to choose who they can attack and who they can't, its really simple, if you cant cope with them, or kill them, dont attack.
Now if a visible class made this thread, they might have a point but as a stealther has, its not even worth arguing about.
As a cabalist, if I get sheered, i'll kill the person who sheers me, pop a charge and carry on, its not the fucking end of the world.
If you're in a fg and dont like them doing it, mez them and run away, dont attack them.

As a stealther.. u can have a fight..and the buff shearing class can come after and shear u...that aint a point. Also .. not all classes can quickly kill an enemy after losing some buffs

its just such a stupid arguement. its like basically if you have nothing to say lets say the old "its ok for an ability to be stupid and bad for the game! dont attack it!"

You can apply the same logical to say BD's.

to say WL's!

to say DT merc!

to sorcs!

however. this is really just more an issue about buff sheers. sure they WORK good in the FG scene. they make sense they are a great tool. winning group recovers and rebuffs. in open scirmish RVR you have no way of repairing those buffs so like any form off buff sheer bad.

what the sensible conclusion to this discussion is rather than "its ok to be fooked up dont attack it!!!", make buffs sheers duration based 2-5 mins whatever, just anything to mean attacking certain classes is a loose-loose situation ! (even if you win :) )

and also seriously, dudes are doing it not to beat peaple but to grief. 2 shammys today moc sheer and sit down afterwards, dont even try and disese and run and kite dot etc. they just want to sheer and emote you.

Buff shears should never of been added in any form. Simply no point in fighting a buff shear class, even if you win you still lose as you have to return back to the boarderkeep regardless. probably just to get jumped by other fully buffed enemies who do/don't know your sheared and will think they had an easy win.

The problem isn't buff shears, it's buffs and buffbots. I am not going to cry because you have to run back and get buffs. You're acting like you're fighting a buffing class 1 vs. 1, but it's not really 1 vs. 1 because you have buffs :) Buffing class is either using his own buffs or he doesn't have buff shears. You're getting a bonus for free that buffing classes have to spec for, you have an automatic advantage. The disadvantage is that you get to go back to your bot if you try to kill a buffers. Seems fair.

asha its a good arguement thanks. and yes in an ideal world we would all be unbuffed. but thats just the way the game is, its the designers greed ofc buffs are about the only thing with they dare not to tough. though to be fair they could argue go play classic.

but the main point is these sheerers I been meeting are not even figthing back. like its a /laugh after they sheered all they can and sit down and die. wtf is that all about ffs.

and also like. doesnt it bother you that opponents dont want to attack you, not because they think you will be a tough fight and a skilled opponent, but basically because they gonna loose buffs :)

same goes for fighting valks, tics, druids, clerics, BM styles anything that rips off buffs really.

it can be very anoying getting sheered. Its not that bad in a duel type situasion.
Usually win those battles anyways and if i get jumped afterwords at least i got a win and some rps:p
Then returning and have to be buffed again aitn that bad.
BUT..the situasions were a fg just runs by and sheers you is like the most anoying kinda griefing there is tbh. They dont even bother fighting you...they just do it to grief and be assholes hehe

I understand that buffbots are the way it is. Buff shears just make buff bots a LITTLE more fair for buffing classes. If someone fights back or not, who cares.

what i think that u are stealthers, u have the choice of what to hit so if u cant do well with the class fack away and attack something else
sooooo simple if u whining for everything in the game then in the end u dont like this game accept that and move to another :p whining for something spesific isnt bad but whining for everything makes u f33l depresed over the game. face it u dont belong in this 1

/edit the quote is cause its quite the same thought with tilda

Getting slightly annoyed by the goold-old 'You're a stealther you can pick your fights so its fine!'. Probably the most stupid argument ever.

That way healing classes wouldn't be forced to pay attention to players' buffs while in combat though, as the effect would automaticly reappear. Also with shears a player (in fg's ~) is 'debuffed' for as long as it takes the support to redo the things, which I think is a good thing, as it makes it easier to gank groups with dodgy healers :d
