Will GoA, the french telecom company, that ran the english servers down the drain, had 0% advertisement of DAoC in europe, had their english head GM blatantly lie to the community of the english clusters regarding status and future of the servers...

...Will that company, care enough of the european players to pay for a new server, with international GMs?

havn't been any since like this summer. Mythic put the old iron lid on and tries to kill all antisipation with a dead silence!

Shame tbh, alot of people from daoc didn't enjoy WAR at all and cba with all the shit on live servers atm :\

Lul, they brought the freeshard down due to mods/gms/etc beeing targeted and abused by immature players for x days/week(s).

Kinda funny really since they killed Emain, killed real competative 8v8, and made it out to be quake III in thid with instant ports to 4-5 places in thid where it was "5v5" ( was literally a big blob of people constantly adding into a huge homo pile of gayass kidz griefing eachother )

I mean they basically caved in to all the daoc scum, then their population grew, and all the sane ppl left the server and they were left with 300 idiots xD haha, then they cry their eyes out on a forum about how abusive their community is^^

Just find it so funneh.. but still givf Origins :\

well its not all d00m and qq yet, heard that there was a roundtable at chicago comming up soon and anyone who still attend that shit will ask questions about origins and if there are any answers we will know in the near future.

Really hope they go through with this project since it could be really nice tbh...

I would much rather have seen mythic keeping their focus on daoc instead of WAR. DAoC for me was the perfect MMO before New frontiers ( didn't mind ToA THAT much but NF killed it big time for me ), and would rather have seen them working on updating the game in a diffrent way. With new advanced graphics, like instead of WAR released DAoC in dx11, shader 4.0, opengl 3.0, motion capture on movements, mounts, voiceover on NPCs, motioncapture on emotes with real facial movement, useage of Physx engine and so on.

What they also should been more responsive to was the 8v8 community and the solo community. They could EASILY on the american servers had monthly 8v8 tournaments, 1v1 tournaments, 3v3 and 5v5 with ladder points and ingame awards for winners, like special mounts ( looks ), special looks on armory, weapons and so on that looked awesome but didn't really give you anything but the status of having something NOBODY else can and ever will have, add some prestige and uniuqeness for the players who done it all and need more challenge, instead of a 6 month PvE campagin expansion. I mean so many things you could have done with DAoC and they did neither, just lack of vision and proper business and branding management.


They could have done so much with DAoC still, but that god forsaken company is just so fail when it comes to innovative business, they still think it is a valid way of business to reinvent the wheel every 3rd year.

Once you have the product perfected, you work on little improvements, not changing the entire gameplay or killing off the game for another mainstream game that will never reach the same potential, I mean compare DAoCs gameplay to WAR and you will instantly realize that it is not close to the same direct control of your class, and feel.. its like comparing Counterstrike wich had a superb engine and feel to say Crysis wich is 'sluggish' and 'unresponsive' in comparison.

The problem is that, in reality, Mythic were a just small time company who got lucky with DAoC and hit the jackpot. If they were better organised and more experience DAoC could have been much, much bigger.

Well, since warhammer end game pvp was a total let down (or f**king abysmal to put it more frankly) i'll try orgins out.. unsure where i'll roll yet i'll most likely roll these duos pending on what realm tho (yes yes 2 accounts for pve farm etc i know about the world buffbots for rvr)

1 button mashing, you mean those hibs that puts all their instants bound to half the keyboard, then mashes the keyboard against the wall several times when they are losing it!!! And some fill a whole quickbar with only baseline stun to mash.
That is what i like to see in Origins, no slamming the keyboard against the wall for instant win abilities!

pretty much, was refering to the following casters:


Fire Wizards
Sorcs
Dark Spiritmasters

Those 3 are among the worse for button mashing and pretty much all 3 have i win buttons all over the place.

I pretty much just want a complete conversion of Shrouded Isle.. I don't mind if they change a little terrain or the graphics of a few things in the old zones or even spells/styles... but absolutely nothing AFTER SI which includes: stat caps, passive bonus's, stupidly overpowered items with silly /use, no silly instant aoe interupts like banelords.

Most likely hoping for to much there.. somewhere in that list mythic will include it :l you can pretty much 100% gurantee it and thus the 1 button mashing, I win ability using, i've got an overpowered item that will allow me to win but i'm a crap player in general will be born all over again.

hm.. still trying to find instants on eldritch, enchanter or mentalist. Oh wait I found a instant str/con debuff ;( and baseline stun whine is sooooo 2003

I’d love it if they revamped all DAoC with the same quality terrain as in WAR. Balanced all the realms with the same quantity of tanks/mdps/rdps/healers but, keep it like now where they all get their unique skills. Doesn’t matter if one class is stronger than another as long as the realms are balanced ish.
Plaster quests all over the place. Make it like wow and war where u can’t turn round without seeing xp.
Scrap Jewel Crafting but add a way for weapon/armour etc crafters to add random stats to objects. Make it so u can influence the direction they go but cant specify.
Lower by a massive amount the chance of getting 100% items.
Add in the odd PQ. I think these work really well in war.
Maybe add some PVE instances. They can always be fun when you just want to play with some m8’s but don’t want to RvR.
Old frontiers OFC.


And last but not least – call it – DAOC 2.0.
Market it as a new game, then Pass Go, Collect your $200 and smile as the cash rolls in for 3 years
