So whos rolling Origins?

Nah, although I did say I would i'm now opting out of it for the following reasons.


1. Mythic are going to fuck the over-all server design/balance up completely.
2. I really can't be bothered getting another class to 50 on a 'possible' Glastonbury fallout server.
3. Playing World of Warcraft with my wife and waiting for Wrath of the Lich King.

2. This is most likely, its all up to the player if they want 5-6 months of rvr for a few weeks of pve

It has stat caps stuff and yet they keep calling it Origins,wonder did they scrap the "free buffs for all" yet

I for one thinks that stat caps are a good thing, can you imagine playing nuker with no BG, no cast spd 75 dex. Run speed will be the same for tanks, insta inteurpts will be the same aoe spam will be the same, so the window you will have to do dmg will be MINIMAL. The argument it worked in OF is for me utter BS cause the grps back then were utter shiite compared to todays status, look at OF vids of the "best" druids: spread heal, when in trouble moc+spread if low on power use raging power. The game today is so much faster and complex, the casters on toa might be a tad over the top in terms of dmg, still with no bonuses they will struggle like mad.

Enchanter luri with dex4 will have 382 dex, dex pans out at 400ish dex and most ppl leave it today at ~396.

OF people had the RA wich boosted cast speed, you could reach cap speeds as Luri ench back then aswell, might be that they put in some caps so they don't have to put in the cast speed RA again, I donno. But would make sense that if they remove toa cast speed bonus from items they would have something for casters AND tanks to reach cap swing speeds, as it used to be. (mastery of arms and mastery of whateverthecasterthingwascalled. )

Aug int 3 equals oto 293 int, not bad.

Diffrence will be no BG, wich means guard will be necessary, and since shield boost I se that working damn well, we all remember Majsan I think .

No ToA dmg bonus from +spell dmg and pierce resis is the diffrence, but caster should really not do as much damage as they do on a TOA server with all the util most of them have.

Ran ani + bain + splitsspec void eld some on shard and instant killed heavy tanks basically :d..thats wrong ~

True that people where worse players back then, but a good caster back then would still be a good caster today, same goes for other 'classes', the game have evolved on all levels, it is not like it is yesterdays daoc grps vs todays daoc grps

It's been delayed too much for me to care anymore. For many of us Origins was just something to keep us occupied before Warhammer but since the latter is released tomorrow and we still have no idea how longer they will delay the former a lot of interest has been lost. I feel it will just be an "official freeshard" and in the end of the day starting anew in Warhammer where most of the old Dyvet community is heading is just more appealing.

Well I played war during the beta, and bought headstart account 3 days ago, for me it was only a reminder of how utterly crap the game is.

I do see the games potential but I'm not enjoying myself at all to be frank, the graphics are horrible at best, and it is actually quite a task to sit through even 2 hours of it, painful is the word.

lol ya I pre ordered WArhammer CE, then watched the game in beta get slowly more and more destroyed and cancelled. Its just a wow clone, that doent even play as well, oh and its in a slightly different settings, I did think they were going to use the Catacombs type models in Warhammer but wow the Gfx just look like they went back 4 years its a discrase for something I had really high hopes for.

At the moment it means nothing since Mythic went back on their Original plan for what Origins would become/be.

The playerbase kinda raged to Marc Jacobs own ideas for the new server type, so they postponed it all undefinatly. Wich I guess was a good idea since if this is meant to be then they better get it right the 1st time since DAoC won't survive any more halfdone garbage implementations enforced on the remaining fanbase.


Think 97% of all players who was looking forward to Origins would be more then happy with only: Old frontiers, old SI classes, old loot/items and ofcourse the buggfixes that are valid for the new servertype ( i.e bug fixes for the stuff that is relevant on the server ).

Yah, I as you really don't see whats good in WAR, feels like a step backward in MMOs really, nothing improved since DAoC and the gameplay is all but gone. It plays just the same as WoW and is by my opinion at best a sidegrade to WoW.
