Coldbeard sorry about last nights comments, not really needed and you were just being funny ;)

Rose to rank 17 today, last pvp game was weird. Guy kept building cannons and expanding so i decided to build 8 zealots, 4 sentries, 20-30 stalkers, 4 carriers(because hey, carrier has arrived :D) and 2 tempest and went to town.

I know it's not optimal etc etc but damn it was funny :p

No hard feelings, glad you seem to be enjoying the game!

I managed to beat a protoss today (which according to my stats happens 20 times out of 100). He was contained into two bases for the duration of the game while I had 4th and almost 5th up running. I made an army of marauders, ghosts, medivacs, vikings and a couple hellbats, set them up a gigantic concave outside his base and waited for him to try his a move his way to victory, did some drops and sniped a few of his tech buildings and the nexus also. He eventually did try a move his way to victory and EVEN ALMOST BROKE THROUGH WERE IT NOT FOR MY REINFORCEMENTS. God I hate protoss so much -.-

Yeah i've always been playing SC from the original, just never really invested too much into it. ow i'm getting back to that sweet spot where i lose if i mess up, which is not to say i don't :D

You should've gone for a nuke, especially when winning and when you got the enemy in contain. Not because it's effective, but because it's just insult to injury :giggle:

Yeah, nukes are actually very good lategame vs protoss for harassing and killing their economy. I was just too stressed out and impatient as I so often get when playing versus protoss :(

Counter to cannonrush if you can't stop it? Have your scouting probe build a distant base and mass void rays *nod* Ragequit was inevitable from the opposing cheesydoodle :p

Rank 13, todays goal would be top 8 in my division. Which would be nice as i'm the highest ranking random too.

Played some Smurf ex-masters toss. Absolutely ridiculous.

Hah, yes, I love cannon rushers. Faced one in my placement matches and just floated my buildings down to my nat, x2 bunkers at the ramp, double expanded and smashed him. He had around 4 stalkers at home. I hate that I didn't scout him though :s

Think my next level of play will be to learn to scout properly.

Sometimes I see a probe in my base and he just looks really shifty and I know I'm about to get cannon rushed as soon as I expand.

There's also a few players who are in high master league who cannon rush literally every game so I have to remember their names.

I didn't think I would have the same problems this season as I did last time I played in WoL, but HOW THE FUCK do you beat mass mutas now??? Their mobility is just so so stupid, they can bounce between all my expansions within seconds, turrets don't do enough and he can have them out too early for me to have any meaningful amount of Thors. I've heard mines are awesome, but I'd have to have at least 10 at each base to do a serious dent to his mass muta ball.
First zerg game of the season (out of 15 LOL!) and I knew the fucker would do this.

Just watched the replay and my baneling micro is laughable, but I'm not that good that I can deal with mutas, blings and speedlings all at the same time. I was like 30 supply ahead when I attacked (had previously killed off his natural and must have got complacent as I'd have expected a quit!). Ugh. I have always been shit at this matchup.

In TvZ you just need to focus on solid macro in standard games and get your upgrades started early, when you get to 3-3 upgrades your marines should plow through everything. Don't be afraid to put down a ton of bunkers and depot walls to prevent zerg from attacking you, once you get your macro and income set up you should be unstoppable if you go for the parade style and always deny zerg expansions and force him to make lower tech units.

Perhaps needless to say, but widow mines help ALOT to trade cost efficient enough vs lingblingmuta. Remember to research the "crocodile clip" research that makes mines burrow ALOT quicker and also make additional factories for better production.

Tried playing a game with the manflu going strong, not a good idea :X3:

Mass muta is one of those things that is good for late zerg, but as terran i'd just try and stop them from getting there. Marines can handle muta still though and as Cold said, bunkers. Those bastards stop every idea i've had :p

The MMR! I dont understand it sometimes :p

The zerg made a bunch of swarmhosts mixed with mutas and hydras, I had no real answer for that as I was going bio for straight up mutalingbling play. No idea how to respond.

Swarmhosts are generally considered to be not so great against bio because they're so slow so you can just go drop somewhere else or drop right on top of them and scan. I guess this isn't possible if they have a load of hydras and mutas too. That's a really gas expensive army though. Hard to say exactly what should've gone different without the replay. I guess if he turtles really hard and forces it into that situation then you can start massing tanks and then go into raven or battlecruiser or something but that sounds pretty boring to me :p

Hmm here's some general ideas anyway: if the army is heavy on swarmhosts then you can go drop multiple locations and try to pick his economy apart. If it's heavier on mutas with only a few swarmhosts then basically just play like you would vs muta ling but try to find the swarmhosts and scan to kill them when you get the chance. If it's hydra heavy then play a bit more defensive and go into tank production; hydras are really strong mid game but aren't so great the longer it goes on and get owned by tanks.
