Shall I return?

Hi all.

Its been a while since I visited FreddysHouse and even longer since I left DAOC. (about 8 months)

I was wondering however, after World of Warcraft kinda got boring, whether it was worth returning.

Hoping you can answer a few questions to help make up my mind:

1 - Are Clerics still needed? (my clerics my main!) or is it all buff bots?
2 - Are the ML's still being run? (only got to ml7)
3 - Do I need Cata's?
4 - How are New Frontiers doing, is RVR still fun?
5 - Is the Guards of Avalon still running? (old guild, I know the old GM left)

Please feel free to elaborate on how great or rubbish DAOC is, I know when I played it wasnt perfect but the people made up for it

rejuv clerics are in short supply, seem always short in rvr and on ml raids.

daily, check these forums for details.

3 - Do I need Cata's?
i only find it any use for the improved graphics.

4 - How are New Frontiers doing, is RVR still fun?
over last few days been far too much action in rvr. also with cluster will be far more busy in time.

5 - Is the Guards of Avalon still running? (old guild, I know the old GM left)
saw quite a few in rvr today at dun bolg, so i would think they are still up and running.

even if you are a rej cleric fullt toa'ed you will still spend half the night in cs yelling Cleric LFG. Its amazing at times how many people shout heal me mate, but dont want to group with you.

Best if you have a gg or aliance group in rvr get more chance that way...

- Whats the population like? is it busy or scarily quite? (apart from RVR)

well imo renew your acc for 1 month to see by yourself and then u decide!

Clerics are always needed, and your guild would prolly be delighted to have you back in action...

strange, some times i get PMs on my other chars from people who want me for rvr and my cleric is 4l4 and missing loads of items for her template so imo it isnt hard finding a grp for rvr

1 - Clerics will always be needed to be honest. Though some do just use DI bots now.

2 - ML's still going on but you'll need a full day for them as they tend to be all rushes now doing several in a day.

3 - No, Catacombs is probably the most useless expansion so far, just some extra pve zones. If you don't want to play a heretic theres no need for it, and alot of people dislike the new graphics anyway.

4 - It hasn't been fun since 1.69 but whining aside it does have its moments if you like zergs and towers. But theres less variety now and to many lame tricks or cheesy classes.

5 - No idea I tend to blank out guild names.

Chances are you'll find yourself just spreadhealing from inside a tower all night unless you join a decent roaming group, so you'll need good DI, and caster leech friends
