I have two possible predictions:

- a very very close, narrow Yes win
- all the cautious, silent No vote will come out and it'll be closer to 40% Yes, 60% No

In general, the Yes voters are very dominant and shouty, a lot of my peers are scared to speak up.

I wonder what the proportion of postal votes will be, and how much of an effect these early votes will have on the final result. I think it's an important consideration, especially with the revelations from both camps.

Or the foreign students studying in Scotland that I've been told get a vote. Anyone confirm that? Mate at work says some Spanish students studying with his son will get a vote and planning on voting yes, because if yes wins there will be a big party! Can't argue with their logic but don't agree they should get a vote.

Those resident in Scotland get a vote. All my Indian guys (some who are only here for 2 years) are getting to vote, and those that are voting seem to be favouring Yes.

You see that, to me, is bollocks of the highest order. I lived in France for 18 months at one stage, never would have I considered how to tell them to run their country, or expect any sort of say, yet after 15+ of living in Scotland I get no say whatsoever in the future of my own country that I'd like to return to one day.

It's a load of fucking bollocks if you ask me - the entire fucking Referendum. It's torn Scotland clean in two, and given the knuckle draggers a nice replacement for sectarianism, it's made the rest of the UK wish Scotland would just fuck off if life's so bad, yet last time I lived in Scotland it was a nice place to live? Certainly above most of Western Europe, and a darn sight cheaper to live and less oppressive than Scandinavia. I mean for fucks sake, the economy is recovering, unemployment in Scotland is lower than the national average, and they get a fuckload of free stuff that we don't get down here.

I used to be a very proud Scot, but after the last year of bickering and bullying? I'm British.

It's difficult but how are they supposed to say who does and doesn't get a vote? If they have a previous generation in Scotland, maybe? People who are only there for education or for a short term with no thoughts about staying should never get a say in something as important and permanent as this.

I personally welcome fresh eyes on the subject, there's too much "FUCKING TORIES, VOTE YES" up here. Someone with an outside view and a balanced look at the evidence / facts / bullshit can ignite reasonable discussion.

So from what others tell me as a Domiciled Resident you can vote in local and EU elections but not the national UK Parliamentary Elections. Scottish Referendum appears to have been organised under the EU type election system. I wonder why? Lowers the age of voting to 16yr allows foreign students to vote. Seems the squirmy iFish rigged the vote legally. Bizarre to me and don't get how the UK government allowed it.

Fair enough they can talk about it all they want but to give someone with no long-term interest in Scotland such power as to allow them to actually vote seems mental, for want of a better word.

Well people who are actually Scottish would be useful rather than nearly anyone currently residing in Scotland at the present moment in time.

If one keeps getting named a campaign of Fear the other is then a campaign of Fantasy.

I'm not also sure how much more they can truly jam on TV about this referendum.

I'm much more concerned by the utterly hideous outcome of Milliband as the prime minister because of a split tory vote..wtf of fucks...seriously ..someone please shoot the fucker..he makes Cameron look like a great statesman..in fact he's worse than Clegg.
If labour get in power I will try for independence of my street.

Three polls out tonight all agree on 52% No, 48% Yes

Less than 36 hours until the actual poll.

I legitimately would prefer Scotland to vote yes, from a purely selfish stand point. The rest of the UK will be better off without Scotland.
From the POV of if I was Scottish I would vote no, as I think it will be a terrible 5-10 years for Scotland if they vote yes, until they get into the euro.

For the sake of the funniest option, I hope they vote no, because the online echo chamber that is the yes campaign where no dissenting voice is listened to - the meltdown will be fun to watch.

Hate Milliband or Love Milliband, he's probably the truest Labour Leader we've had in generations, it's a shame that the working classes of this country are too busy going right wing, and blaming brown people and ex-USSR people for their problems of inequality of wealth, which it all comes down to. I mean, the day when a Labour leader has to apologise for his Marxist roots is the day that the Labour party ceases to exist what's meant to the be there for. Oh wait. That happened didn't it.

I wouldn't want him in charge at the minute though, because as we still like to think we're a 19th Century world power, he'd just get shot down by the other world leaders.

In the same breath though, I'd like to see what he'd do if he didn't have people pulling the strings.

He is exactly what Labour want, they knew that there is no way on earth they could get us out of the hole that Labour helped put us in without upsetting their core voters by taking away the jobs for votes scheme (the public services) When the country is properly back on its feet he will be shuffled out and they will get someone more competent and appealing in.

An irish pro independence viewpoint: http://www.irishcentral.com/opinion/cahirodoherty/Scotland-and-the-axis-
of-privilege-in-an-England-that-no-longer-exists.html

if you dont want to read article this basically sums it up:

It’s not just flag-waving Braveheart-style nationalism that’s inspiring this movement for change. It’s longstanding fury and disgust.

The question for Scotland this week, that I look forward to hearing them answer, is: 'Do you let your hopes define you, or do you let your fears?'

one more day!

About the norm for Labour leadership then.
