Audi drivers.

A long drive back from the west highlands at the weekend, everyone on the road in that nigh 2 hour journey was considerate and respectful except for three people - all Audis. Fucking pricklets. An A5 driving 1 inch off my bumper at 70 mph, then an A3 saloon doing the "weave" just off my bumper on a single lane 60 mph (queue of cars) followed by a fucking bell-end on the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh in a TT.

Its a lot of data on relative loads during the lifecycle of different java processes during the distribution of an in-memory clustered database.

Please don't make me explain load in relation to a given process' life to my management. Einstein is correct, but on the other hand he's never met the staff of BigCompany :-(

Ive had a few cases since this summer where i had made a nice elegant solution which was rejected in favor of a horrible hack, once we hit the limitations of the hack the "new solution" ended up being the one i proposed and implemented months earlier (i always save these so i can easily insert them back in when wind changes)

I've found a way to combine what I already had with a simple way of being able to explain it to my management. All I have to do is a small bit of excel work. Because I am now using something the management drone knows about, my work, my life, and general added value to the customer has become just that much more. Think licking a nice Porsche rather than looking at pictures of one.
