Been there dude, had norovirus earlier this year, projectile vomiting followed by projectile shitting followed by projectile vomiting. I was so unwell, I thought I was dying.

I remember it well. :)

Edit - I mean, I remember you recounting your experiences not I'm happy that you thought you were dying.

Other than one time when I was a boy, I've never been sick like it. With booze you normally feel "shit, I've overdone it, I think i might chunder" followed by a few pukes. Norovirus was out of nowhere, relentless "out of the nose" for about 12 hours straight.

I had a bad steak haché (basically a burger) meal at a restaurant a couple of months ago and my stomach was a mess for about 24 hours. I know it was that because my neighbour had the same thing at the same time. No vomiting but I was glued to the throne for long periods. Like a fully open tap, that felt like the force with which stuff was spewing out.

Nothing better for a good clear out than a virus. You will feel a million dollars when you get over it.

My worst was definitely when I was a bairn, for about 48 hours I was being sick round about every hour, then after that every time I aye it came straight back up, grim times.

I can handle being sick off the drink, you normally don't feel sick for hours before hand, you just suddenly get the urge to hurl, get it out then sleep it off. Basically no hangover the next day too.

This was my second weekend with my head being down the loo though, fingers crossed I don't go for the hat-trick this weekend.

That's silly. Of course you feel a million dollars when you get over it - because when you had it you felt like shit.

If you want a "clearout" eat nothing but veg and drink nothing but water for a few days.

The M1. I can't think of a time I've had to drive down it, and get somewhere for a certain time, and not been late because of a bazillion holdups, that just don't manifest any time you don't have a schedule to keep...

I much prefer the M40 it seems less prone to accidents. Maybe you should cut across at birmingham or milton keynes :)

Unfortunately it's a bit out of the way to get to the M40, or any other roads to London, from Nottingham. Especially as I live just off the A46, which goes straight onto the M1... And the great, free parking I found is just off the M1, so I'd need to find somewhere else for that too... All of which make the M1 situation that bit more of a pain, because it'd be so perfect if not for the weird traffic problems. I'll keep looking for alternatives, but at the moment, this just works too well, in theory anyway...

Booking a specific hotel with room on exec floor (in Istanbul) due to a meeting we have tomorrow. It has a nice quiet lounge area with tea/coffee etc. only to find it is closed and we can only use the public coffee lounge in the lobby. Pissed because when I called the hotel I told them exactly what was going on and they said nothing. 3 people arriving from US in 2 hours, what a mess :(. Now we have to book meeting room for a day and have a huge row with them about the cost.

This. I always take the M40 unless I'm going to Watford - much freer running, nice and easy to get to from the Toll Road, and the attitude to speed limits is similar to the Toll Road too (apart from that junction in Oxfordshire the government cash machines park over).

Gazza and Raoul Moat back in the papers with a "Gazza was on drugs" shocker.

Who honestly gives a fuck about a washed up footballer?

Note to self: if ordering from America, don't use USPS as the courier.

I haven't had any problems sending international with USPS, a little expensive, but always right around the corner. I would probably prefer UPS if it wasn't so expensive (for a private consumer).
What's your problem?

My problem is your face!

My problem is actually that it was sat in a warehouse somewhere for a week before being cleared by Customs, when I've had stuff delivered via UPS before and it's sailed straight through. It might just be bad luck and not USPS's fault (French Customs maybe) but I've seen stories of their poor service for international deliveries.

Sometimes customs take forever, not really USPS's fault. I have had stuff here within the week from the US, sometimes several weeks, 99% of the time it is customs causing the delay.
