Well, there's book spoilering, although that's not really relevant anymore in the case of GoT, but certainly was an issue for a long time.

As for all this furore, avoid the fucking thread until you've seen the episode, or just avoid the thread altogether if it bothers you so much. I don't go near The Guardian Culture or iO9 on a Monday typically (the Guardian one is particularly irritating because its nominally a British site but they pander to Americans now).

The show has gone past the books now, unless someone has some sort of insider information it is impossible to know what is going to happen in the next episode, its speculation. Most people like to talk about what has happened and how they think it is going to turn out, which is interesting. We could have a new thread where people confirm they have watched the latest episode but not give away any details and leave it at that...would be a bit shit though.

I wish he would put his spoiler whine in spoilers so that it doesn't spoil everyone elses enjoyment of the thread.

It's beyond my comprehension why people struggle with a concept I put on a par with 1+1=2. Utterly baffling.

We should hardly ever see spoiler tags in those threads - almost never. If you haven't seen the latest episode you're a moron for going in there in the first place. Discussion should be open.

The *only* time a spoiler should be used is if you're discussing something that hasn't aired yet that you have some foreknowledge of. E.g. Like you know the hound is going to turn up in tomorrow's episode.

But people seem to be utterly bereft of the ability to grasp that very simple thing. It's frankly astonishing to me. I just.can't.compute....
