No the Swedish don't do confrontation... As you well know

Well the only sensible thing would be doing the opposite imo. No one would expect that!

Only yesterday i went to a club in the city but had to pay (the amount didn't matter) 80 kronor to get in. Shittiest place you could ever imagine. So, jokingly, when going out there after one beer, i said to the entrance clerk (or w/e you call it) that "I would like a refund on the entrance fee, because this was the worst place I've ever been to". He sat quiet for some time, so i decided to push it further and said "I'm serious, i would like my money back".

He sat quiet and just looked at me wondering what the hell was going on. With no response i asked if he didn't speak Swedish, so the guards were giving me the evil eye so i gave a wink and left.

Fucking French cunts.....

So a long story... Conference in Marseille finished today... And there is a national taxi strike. At 12.30 4 of us left the hotel. Option 1 bus to the train station and shuttle bus to the airport.... The first bus didn't arrive so option metro to get the shuttle bus .... success!!!! However... The taxi drivers are blocking the entrance so they have to drop us on the side of the road outside the airport... It is now 15.15 and 39 degrees ..... BUT I saw a small airport mini bus and using nothing but English charm with a dash of Dutch determination blagged us a lift to the terminal \o/...
Be thankful your conference wasn't in Paris.

Hellllll no. I'm down south, Paris is like another country to the people around here (they literally wish it was another country; they really dislike Parisians on the whole). I went to the bar the evening after PSG had played in the Champions League, I asked the owner if he had watched the match and he spat on the ground in front of me. I was like ":|".

...because French people dislike bullshitting wankers as well? I think that's pretty international tbh.

(and I'm not French but don't let that stand in the way of your idiocy)

Still, at least they left the sheep alone for once.

On a more serious note, just hearing rumours someone has been beheaded in Grenoble, IS flag seen nearby.

As infuriating as I find the French they are mostly lovely people at heart, and don't deserve more of this nonsense. Religion of Peace my arse.

Meh, when you promote ghettoism in places such as Marseille which will be a breeding ground for IS ideology, it's easy to export it across France.

I'm not supporting them, I'm just contradicting your point of 'lovely at heart'.

No, they can take a joke like you.
Unsurprisingly, you don't know a thing about what you're talking about. Again.

I would love to hear how me living in France explains a thing but I know you'll just pussyfoot around it and not actually say anything conclusive so I won't even bother directly asking.

Well, personally having lived there for 18 months and still working with them frequently, I can tell you that the French are lovely people individually - in groups they get a bit French about everything but I normally just look on in bemusement - however they are fiercely proud of their culture, and if you don't make an attempt to integrate with their culture, they don't make much of an effort with you. Hence the ghettos.

Toht doesn't know any of that though, he just thinks he's being funny

I'll agree with you to a point about the culture, although I'm not near a big city and it's much more chilled in the countryside. I'm 100% sure that they're much more welcoming over here than the English would be if a French person moved into the neighbourhood.

Ah see I lived in Clermont-Ferrand and spend a lot of time in Paris - they can be a bit less welcoming there :)

Oh yes it's a widely known fact (widely known outside of Paris anyway) that Parisians are wankers. :)

The missus is on at me to take her to Paris, can't say I'm too excited to spend £200 for a night in a shoebox surrounded by Parisians....

I've heard a lot about Parisians but I went to Paris last month (my first time in France) and without exception everyone was really friendly.

Well yeah, is that the right attitude to have though? - Because that could explain the extremism, if people aren't embraced into being 'French' they're more likely to be pushed into hxc?

@caLLous answer my question, where abouts do you live?

Personally, that is absolutely the right attitude to have. If you move to a country (which I did), it's only polite to try to integrate with the society you are joining - I'm not saying completely ditch what you are used to, but at least try to make an effort. Here in the UK we seem to bend over backwards to change our culture to suit them, which is working well. Especially in Rotherham and Tower Hamlets.

Put on your trilby and do some digging, I answered that question not long ago on here. :)

It would literally take you less time to write an answer to the question, then to type that. Jesus what is it with you british folk and answering questions with simple answers :p

Oh do piss off. Of course it would take less time but why not have a bit of fun with it and make Gwad lift a finger to find the answer?

And don't even fucking start about "not answering questions" either, that is a can of worms that you of all people don't want to open.

Do you live near Limoges?

Your answer wasn't 'Down South' was it?

I wanted more specific.

It's obviously not working very well in France nor in the UK, the answer isn't to bend over for them, nor is it to let them get on with it and create ghettos for them to live in.

Issue is, in the UK we always go on about how they should integrate into OUR culture.

What exactly is a 'British Culture?' my perception of the British Culture is one of multiple cultures merged into some gooey sticky stuff which is excellent.

We should be more open to invite them to influence our culture rather than putting them in a box and poking sticks at them every now and again.

The question is why have other religions/faiths mixed well into British society (Sikhs, Hindus etc) but Islam hasn't? - To flip @Job's argument on its head, it's easy to blame it wholly on the backward religion that is Islam, but as a nation, are also doing something wrong in stopping them from integrating?

@caLLous Toulouse?
