I get it outside the UK but it's the same BBC as you as we have a slightly dodgy arrangement to appear as if we're in the UK to Sky. *whistles*
Is that the same as BBC Workdwide? You can't watch iPlayer outside the UK (not legally anyway), there's an international subscriber version of the iPlayer for iPads, but I think they've pulled it, and it didn't offer live programme streams anyway. International BBC (BBC World, BBC America etc.) has ads.

Ah right, thanksBBC Worldwide is the company not the channel(s).
I spent 16 years going on trips for business that were supposed to be a perk. You see htels and airports. And unless you want to do your job really hungover thats it.While that probably sounds exciting and full of flair and drinks with supermodels and movie stars, i'd bet it's more like lots of waiting at airports and spending time alone in hotel rooms without seeing the family for two weeks.
I enjoyed going on business trips for work because I got to fly around and see parts of the country I wouldn't otherwise, but it is far from luxurious and quite a pita if you have family.
we're not allowed to travel anymore (*cough at my level cough*). having poor customer relations is considered less bad than occurring the incidental travel costs of engineers (by the people still allowed to travel (who aren't engineers)).My business travel these days mostly consists of exciting international travel to....Watford. I did go to Oslo last week though.
Travel at my last company *cough* oracle. For the department i was in has also been curtailed. And damn my thumbs for being quicker than my touch screen and making me alter texts and read them back.we're not allowed to travel anymore (*cough at my level cough*). having poor customer relations is considered less bad than occurring the incidental travel costs of engineers (by the people still allowed to travel (who aren't engineers)).

Finland,
This year the list is about the same.
Its quite telling that I booked my flights last week with KLM; back when I travelled a lot I would have just known that they're now owned by the most incompetent airline in the world (Air France). I didn't know that, and I was punished accordingly.
This @Hawkwind you could always quit, or are you a slave to the wage?
Good little anecdote about that - So Air France announce a while back that their facility at Toulouse Airport was doubling in size, what they failed to mention in the press release was that the building that actually increased that capacity was for lost baggage!I think KLM are still decent, in spite of their owner (although time will tell). Air France are just a nightmare for losing baggage.
I follow a pro mountainbiker on FB who travels with Air France. guy's basically a celebrity, he travels with extremely distinctive bags and he has a fairly large following on the social media. despite this, they have managed to lose his kit on several occasions. to compare: my parents flew for over 40 years with companies like Singapore Airlines, and their bags got misplaced once way back in the early 80's..
Worst airport experience was at JFK, 3 hours of queuing to get to passport control in a poorly ventilated room with thousands of people pushing and shoving and no bathrooms in sight
wtf, why can't I highlight text and google it in Chrome, from this website? Instead, I get some silly quote/reply thing.
I'm a bit peaky today - spent yesterday morning doing things in Belfast then started drinking at 1pm and finished around 5am. No disco nap needed.A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away ..... when you were in your 20s @Scouse ..... you'd likely have had enough energy to spend a full day doing things, then be full of energy for evening activities (pub then club). If you're like me though, as you've gotten older, you can't last until 3am any more and quite frankly you want to sack it by midnight because of being too tired
