Will you two just stop bickering like an old married couple!! Find a dark corner and shag each other already!

They've barely had 3 back/forth convos, i don't really like this anti-discussion mentality this forum has the moment you aren't interested in the topic.

Agree with @old.Tohtori there.

So I'll continue with @Moriath rather than brush it off as I did. - But I'll spoiler for niceness - as it's boring me too...

...if you go back and look at the discussion toht had made a joke about runny eggs and butter being unhealthy - I responded by poining out they weren't - with butter in moderation.

You said donuts could be in moderation too. - so you were A) talking about health and B) talking shit. Also C) you got pissy because you joined in someone elses conversation about healthy food and didn't like the response despite you B), above...

Give it up m8. You clearly don't know what a healthy diet or lifestyle is - and you get angry every time someone else discusses it. So I suggest you either A) ignore it when other people start talking about the subject, no matter how lightheartedly, or B) start eating healthily and lose weight through exercise - you could swim, despite your back issues, as it's non weight-bearing. If my rheumatoid arthiritis riddled and curved spine disabled auntie can do it so can you. - That way you won't be so touchy any more.

Otherwise keep hijacking threads and talking shit before getting inordinately upset when I "disagree" you...

Went to the dentist for checkup as a back tooth was sore.

"The root has an infection, we're going to have to pull it." - well that sucks but I guess it has to be done.

Get the tube back home. Sit across from an attractive women. Our eyes meet, she smiles. Half my face is still numb from the Lidocaine. I try to smile back but probably look more like a stroke victim. There is drool ....

I was going to ask Scouse about the disagree, but i think this is going into semantics and i really don't want to get into that anymore :p

Weren't that your role some time ago, generally disagreeing with everyone and playing devils advocate. What happened?!

I think Scouse is performing a social study on 'disagreeing with everything anyone says'. He became you.

Agree with @old.Tohtori there.

Well there's that theory out the window.

What happened?!

I stopped trolling as a public service and more recently trying to avoid discussions which seem to go in the way of "wall here, dead horse there".

Not the sock horse ffs!

I still can't get rid of my passive "people around you get trolled for 1 damage" ability. No respeccing.

There is a stark difference. @Scouse isn't deliberately trolling. He's just an argumentative cunt like the rest of us :). I don't see his 'disagreement' as being pedantic or pointless.

I'm not just talking about this thread and the short discussion they had that you are referring to.

It's nearly every thread that @Moriath and @Scouse have a back and forth (ooh er missus) with one another.
If it was a discussion then that's fine but they just seem to be jumping on each others responses for no real reason.

It's not that I'm not interested in the topic @old.Tohtori but it's tiresome seeing them at each others throats the whole time.

Eh, that's fair enough. Can see how that would get annoying, but also have to point out that it might partly be a cumulative effect. They might not actually argue that much, but since you've noticed them arguing (perhaps several times during a rarer short period) and got annoyed, it might seem they are arguing more since you notice it more easily.

Worth a thought if nothing else. Besides that, i get the frustration, but we all have to read a few things here and there that annoy us on a public forum and the best thing is to let it go ;)

I feel your pain dys, but what is actually happening is that every time I comment on the nutritional value of something, or talk about exercise, moriath takes umbrage (regardless of whether he's part of the conversation) and pitches in. -so I respond.

Take a look at the last few pages of the fitness thread if you need evidence. The lad ain't interested in fitness but he is interested in passing negative comment on other people's discussion of it - even when tucked away in a thread populated by weightlifters, cyclists, dieters and marathon runners...

Wow. It's just occured to me that freddyshouse actually has people like that! We're not all lardy nerds! :D

For all those who complain about cyclists "going up the inside of HGVs and getting themselves killed"

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbGHvvwIMIY

Whilst I totally agree it's the HGVs fault...

The cyclist didn't look in the direction of the HGV once, I know you shouldn't have to, but the point is, for one it's easier for a cyclist to dive out of the way, or break earlier, then moan at him.

I just feel like sometimes cyclists do things which are careless to their own lives to make a point that they have equal rights, which they completely do, but don't fucking risk your life because of it, because if you die making that point, then you're hardly a winner.

The cyclist saw him coming the whole time - you don't have to turn your head to see things - you've got field of view, and your eyes move independently of your head, remember?

And naturally the cyclist thought that the HGV would give way. You know, like it was legally obliged to do.

You're talking massive shit there m8.

Edit: Maybe I'm being harsh on you. Maybe you can only see in two round circles directly in front of you, like your eyes are torches. And maybe some nasty man stapled your eyes so they don't move - and you've just *forgotten* what it's like to have a normal human's eyesight...

Poor crippled gwad :(

He clearly wasn't giving way though, it was pretty obvious early on that he wasn't going to give way, so if that's the case, and he did see him NOT giving way, why did he not stop sooner? - to make a point?

I don't think posting shit tons of videos on Youtube will stop drivers from being shit drivers.

If anything it's just going to make a bigger divide of them and us.

Talk about bikes, and see how defensive you get, you're cute when you're angry.

Legally obliged didn't protect anyone. Look out for yourself ... No one else will.
'xactly.

I don't drive, but the one thing I'm taught is trust no-one on the road.

Why should cyclists be exempt from this, then start moaning that drivers are intentionally out to kill cyclists?

Drivers kill other drivers, its just harder to kill someone in a metal tin.

@Gwadien and @leggy - go back and watch the video again.

Start at 31 seconds, paused. The cyclist is accelerating and the HGV is in a position that it could still well stop. In fact, I'd expect it to (and when I first watched the vid I expected it to - I thought Tom was posting a video of someone being swiped from behind or perhaps overtaking someone on the right - not what happened).

Then move to 33 seconds and pause again. The cyclist didn't have time to stop - it takes two wheels longer to come to a stop than four wheels - and you're expecting the lad to A) predict the fact that the HGV will not actually stop and instead start accelerating (you can hear it) - and then B) come to a full stop on a bike from his own accelerating postion - in less than two seconds?

Watch it - there's literally nothing he could have done other than what he did -which was to try to get out of the way and pathetically try to protect himself from the huge chunk of idiot-controlled metal with his fleshy appendage...

Speculating - I'd wager the HGV saw the cyclists and didn't give a shit anyway - the acceleration makes me think this - trying to get out in front of the bikes. I get it all the time - cars who see I'm on a bike and think "it's only a bike" and just pull out - because they know they're not going to get hurt. Then they get pissy when their window gets slapped.

I don't cycle on roads precisely because of this very common behaviour...

Im only gonna pick one bit of that. Cause the post in it's entirety has a different meaning and if I pick on one bit in isolation I'll have something to go on
There you go m8 :)

Edit: But can we can it now? Surely you're as bored as I am :\
