Bit random and not so much annoying i guess, but i think i have to accept i can't play/watch every media that's coming out.

The amount is rather ridicilous, not that it's a bad thing to have choices, but even looking at the backlog of tv shows/games/movies i got now is daunting, even as unemployed.

The thing is, you have to start cutting out some really good stuff as well.

Your film of the year for 2014 was Ninja Turtles. I think you have some serious quality control issues that need addressing and then you won't have so much shit to watch.

One of three and so what? Oh, right, forgot i have to like things everyone else likes.

But it's ok, your post missed the point so much that it doesn't even matter :p

Your point was that you have too much media to consume. My point was that you enjoy consuming shit media. The two "points" complimented each other nicely, I thought. :)

By your logic i should listen to justin bieber and watch my little pony because there's a huge audience liking them and never watch movies/play games unless they get over 90% in the media.

Or should i form my own opinions, based on my own preferences/likes?

You're basing your whole argument on a fallacy that i saw every movie of 2014 and then chose turtles as one of my top three, when the fact is it was in the top three of movies i did see(as per question at the time).

Watch what you like but don't complain that you have too much stuff to watch when you watch such dross.

I'm not basing my "argument" (and it's not even an argument, just an observation) on anything of the sort. For Ninja Turtles to be in an adult's top 3 movies of last year must mean that the threshold for what is considered good is ridiculously low (unless you're 12). Ergo, because your bar is so low, you enjoy watching stuff that others don't bother with or think is shit. Ergo, you have too much to watch. And anyway, if you watch so much stuff it stands to reason that you watched a lot of films in 2014. So yeah, you watched a lot of films and then picked Turtles in your top 3. I shudder to think of the quality of the films that it beat to that spot.

You are arguing and then trying to cover with "watch what you like". Bullsh*t, you're saying "watch what you like...as long as it meets my standards and my tastes!".

Your whole basis is "you like turtles, you like sh*t, watch less sh*t and the problem disappears". Ergo it's wrong in itself. Ergo there's way too much to watch/play even ifyou took all the assholes(yes you're one) advice on what is ergo "proper and good". Ergo, you're an asshole.

For ninja turtles to be in an adults top three(asshole alert again, let's see how many liked the lego movie, a "adult" movie for sure) means it's one of the top three movies the adult has watched in 2014. I watched maybe 4 movies that year. Top three, not hard to make(not to mention it's a solid turtles movie). At no point did i say that i watched so many movies and still missed so many. Quite the opposite by adding tv/games in there.

In any case, how the living f*ck would i know if the turtles is good or not if i didn't go see it? Unless...ooooh...you're one of those. Gotcha. Nevermind, these words are probably too big for someone like you.

Fucking hell, calm down. I am not (and was not) arguing with anything. You're free to watch anything that pleases you but then, because your bar is set so low, that means you're going to have a surplus of awful stuff to watch. So that brings us neatly around to your original point, which was that you have more media to consume than time in which to consume it. Which brings us neatly around to my original point, which is that if you watched less dross, you would have more time to consume your media than media to consume in said time.

Seeing as you brought up The Lego Movie (which was awesome btw), let's look at the opening paragraphs of the "Reception" sections on both of their wikis:
The Lego Movie received critical acclaim from critics. Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 96% approval rating with an average rating of 8.1/10 based on 200 reviews. The website's consensus reads, "Boasting beautiful animation, a charming voice cast, laugh-a-minute gags, and a surprisingly thoughtful story, The Lego Movie is colorful fun for all ages." On Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 based on reviews from critics, the film has a score of 83 (indicating "universal acclaim") based on 43 reviews. According to CinemaScore polls conducted during the opening weekend, the average grade cinemagoers gave The Lego Movie was A on an A+ to F scale. Filmmaker Edgar Wright and TIME Magazine film critic Richard Corliss have respectively named The Lego Movie as one of their favorite films of 2014.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles received generally negative reviews from critics, with the criticism around the acting performances, fast pacing, poorly produced CGI and the generic story and characters, with several critics making negative comparisons to the The Amazing Spider-man. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 21% based on 131 reviews, with a rating average of 4.2/10. The site's critical consensus reads: "Neither entertaining enough to recommend nor remarkably awful, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may bear the distinction of being the dullest movie ever made about talking bipedal reptiles." On Metacritic, the film has a score of 31 out of 100, based on 33 critics, indicating "generally unfavorable reviews". Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film a B grade on a scale of A to F.
Seeing any differences in the language used? Even the most positive review I could find of Turtles said "basically brainless but intermittently adrenalizing, mostly-just-for-kids reboot" whereas The Lego Movie is very intentionally for all ages (if anything, it was made more for adults than children).

Anyway, watch whatever shit you want to watch (as I've said since the start of this "argument"), but don't moan about not having enough time to watch it all. :)

And there was me remembering that you're one of the people that gets all uppity when people start using personal insults. And you called me an asshole and a moron in quick succession in two separate threads... Hmm.

Yes you are. But it's ok, you're an asshole who thinks people should watch ratings and not choose their own stuff(because personal opinions are bad), and i don't think i'll waste time on such people anymore.

Have you seen all the top rated movies/tv shows and played all the top rated games of 2014? You've had nearly half a year extra time to do so, so i'm guessing you have, since you have the "solution". Or is there too much good stuff going around to experience it all?

Also did you go and watch any movie with just the thought "That might be good", or "That looks interesting" without checking reviews and such to make sure? Because, otherwise you could watch a bad movie and you don't do such things, right?

Unless it's something different then the likes of callous and Scouse like, then it's sh*t and for retards.
Nope. People can like what they like. I only take umbrage when people are factually incorrect.

Go ahead, love your turtles baby. Love 'em to your hearts content!

Fair enough, apologies for putting you in that category ;)

You know, that actually gave me an idea. I could have forum member movie days, where people tell 3 movies to watch that are "right up their alley". Would be interesting to see, for example, what you would watch when stuck inside for a day.

But Toht, don't you quite often say stuff like "its just popcorn action where you dont have to think" about generally considered shit movies (spiderman, transformers, turtles). Which basically means you could narrow down what you watch, searching for movies that engages the watcher(not porn!), as you say yourself they are not particulary good.

And wouldnt the turtle kinda movie be the closest match to justin bieber music if you wanna do that analogy? Bland crap created for the masses?

I loved turtles and transformers wheb i was a kid, this lead to me not even watching past the trailers as they did not seem true to my childhood memories in any way.

I was reading up and thinking @caLLous was going mad, arguing with himself, but it suddenly became clear - there's only one utter vaj that could rile someone up that way on this forum.

Just because something is good popcorn fun, doesn't mean it's not still good. Does what it says on the tin, brainless fun. It fits a particular need in entertainment and denying myself from that, just because i could replace that movie with some artsy fartsy, wouldn't be true to my tastes. + i wanted to see it to see it mysef, not because someone else rated it 9/10.

The whole point wasn't that there's too much stuff to watch so i can't watch enough mind challenging stuff(like callous tries to push), just that there's too much stuff to watch all of it.

As a turtles fan myself, i found the movie capturing enough of the essense(where it counted) and once i stopped looking at it like a critical adult and stopped comparing it to the other turtles stuff, it was good entertainment for an afternoon.

And @Big G still needs to learn what ignore means, but it's nice to know i can still troll him even if he doesn't read my stuff ;)

I do find it amazing how when someone made a random comment on the 'Random Spam Thread' @old.Tohtori jumped on them like OMG NO YOU NEED TO BE MORE PRECISE OVER STATISTICS OF WHAT YOU DID AND WHEN YOU DID IT, I WANT A REPORT.

When people confront him he just gets butt-hurt.

BURT HURT.

I think we should all do a social experiment, let's all ignore @old.Tohtori and see if he argues with himself :p

Many have tried, but as you can see, they can't ignore me. I'm like a parasite, deep in their brain :p

I'm also not butthurt, i'm discussing the matter which callous brought up. As far as the random spam thread alcohol thing goes, i was curious as it seemed like a dangerous amount of alcohol(which it is). I wasn't trying to say access is lying, more concerned if anything.
