I bought a pair of Timberland boots about 15 years ago when I went snowboarding. They were brilliant. I still have them. In 15 years I've only had to replace the laces once. But now the soles are losing their grip. Not sure if the high street shoe repairers can put new soles on Timberlands, but went looking for another pair today.

I was dismayed. The leather was thin, the tongue had no shape and was too thin. Sone were covered with zips and all kinds of crap. No good for winter.

Off to my local shoe repairers tomorrow

Fucking 9 o'clock exams. Got the last of the semester on monday and it is a fucking pain in the arse!

Marketing, economy and computer networking all in one. Marketing and economy are fine, we got the questions for those in advance, but computer networking is just shoot from the hip.

30 minute oral exam. No papers or cue cards are allowed in the examination room. You go in, draw two questions, one for marketing/economy and one for computer networking. The marketing/economy part you have to have all ten questions and answers memorized. For computer networking we have a 500~ish page curriculum our teacher can ask us about. "Explain multi- and demultiplexing on the transport layer. What is a DNS server and how does it work? What are packet and circuit switching and how are they used? What are the differences between UDP and TCP, and what are they used for?" etc.

I feel like my brain is getting fucked by having to memorize so much information. I hate exams so much and this one can go fuck itself

Setting up windows 8.1 is absurdly complex, had to go in person to set it up for inlaws (60+) that couldnt figure it out

I got a new office PC this week, pre-installed 8.1 as 7 wasn't an option. I'd forgotten how bad it was. Classic Shell sure helps but there's still so much wrong. Why remove the Aero theme & transparency - 20 years of UI dev and they end up with plain solid colour?! Why when using a jpeg as your desktop background does it re-encode the image at a lower quality settings just so it loads fractionally faster. Took me ages to work out when the desktop version of my background was full of artifacts. Forcing you to have a windows live account. Windows 10, please be better.

You can get around the live account but you have to click sign up first after which there is a continue without in very small letters at the bottom.

I was checking my mail(due to applying to a new job) as i was heading out and forgot my bag because of that. Walked a bit, noticed, walked back and got it. On my way to the store for the second time i was at the "right place at the right time" as a branch fell from a tree, hit my shoulder and swung to my jingle bells.

On the flip side, I like Office 2013 a lot.

I think its awful. Uninstalled it and went back to 2010 on my work PC. Far too much fluff when you are trying to use complex formulae in Excel.

I think you forgot the worst of the lot: Win ME. I also don't remember anything being wrong with 98 (SE).
