Shiny new Dell monitor to go with my Dell laptop when I arrived at work this morning. Monitor has a Display Port connection, laptop doesn't.

Went to PC World and bought a HDMI to DVI adaptor. They made me go to PC World. Damn them all to Hell!

My work lappy has mini DP and a full fat HDMI port...but no VGA. Not usually an issue until you go to customer site and they have an old projector, and you've forgotten the DP to VGA adapter....

Lovely laptop though, with it being so light and booting so fast, it's made the iPad work supply us with completely redundant.

Cunting Xmas Jumpers.

"Have" to wear one to the work's xmas meal next week. I don't mind going for an xmas bite to eat - but having to shell out hard-earned because the "boss" is the sort of guy who'll mentally note someone "not getting in the spirit of things".

Fuck xmas. Fuck it in it's corporate ear.

But apparently not. I'm the one getting fucked by it :(

I'll be honest I had no idea who he was before I heard him on the news talking about Grammy nominations.

If I hear the phrase "weather bomb" on the news any more I think I might get jolly cross.

Completely, he's absolutely bloody average, music for the next generation of motorway service station. Liked his work with Rudimental, his solo stuff is utterly bland.

He's kind of an urban James Blunt. Without the hilarious Twitter account.

I think your thinking of John Newman who did a track with Rudimental, the 2 of them do get mixed up. Sam Smith did a track with Naughty Boy

And yes James Blunts Twitter is very funny

Conference calls

Hours of talk maybe 10 mins of relevant info

Same goes for other meetings, especially in a creative job. It's just something for the "top brass" to wank over, to seem like they're actually doing f*ck all :p

Of course yeah, my bad. 16 hour days due to delayed flights out of Schiphol will lead to that sort of confusion :)

Which is my nomination for random annoying things - useless fucking Travel Management companies that book you on a flight the day before you are due to travel, so you have to ask them to rebook at the last minute with a completely different airline. So instead of a reasonably pleasant flight to Amsterdam with KLM, I had to go with fucking FlyBe. Or Fly Maybe as I think they're known.

Still, the free rental car upgrade to a nice new 3 Series softened the blow somewhat :)

I was unlucky enough to get a window seat on a flybe plane, worst flight ever. my head was touching the ceiling so had to spend the entire flight with my head tilted.

KLM pretty much cost the same as Flybe, once you add in baggage charges and refreshment costs - unless you are trying to book 3 hours before you're due to fly.....

Good luck collecting your luggage after a KLM flight though, the chances are it won't be at the same airport as you. :)

I've done about 15 return trips with KLM now, never had an issue. Oh, apart from when they run out of those crazy Dutch biscuits, that are pretty much 1 part waffle 10 parts sugar.

Whenever I visit our HQ I always have to have the mustard soup too.

The Dutch are great for biscuits and soup.
