I was reading about something that occured in Belguim during the summer: someone disabled one of BE's nuclear power stations by taking out it's turbine driven generators by draining away some 60 thousand liters of oil. On purpose, it's been determined, so at best sabotage although the T word has already been used. I was just thinking to myself: I don't think it's terrorists, because the purpose of a terrorist is to create terror in the general populace, which in turn creates political pressure. The name gives it away really. You don't cause terror in the general population by taking out a nuclear power plant, that's more along the lines of spec-ops work, or really, really, really hard core criminal organisations. So...what kind of nutbag opens some valve and lets 65K liters of oil drain away?

I highly doubt it was a 'Government' attack.

Belgium - 'Capital of Europe' I'd wager it was a green group who was protesting against the use of Nuclear, although I didn't hear about this. The question you need to ask is why did they not publicise this? (As far as I'm aware) - Is it because Nuclear Energy is not terrorist safe as they'd like to think, and that the activists don't need the hate, so they don't need the publicity?

weeeeeelll...tbh I don't think that the greenie tree huggers are foolish enough to wash 65.000 liters of oil down the sewer just to make the NUUKLEAR AER TEH BADD! point by bringing a power station to a grinding halt. It seems a bit...wasteful. Also, it seems to me that it's really kind of hard to walk on to a NPS site and, err, open a random valve. From the article, unfortunately, they do say that they are upgrading their camera system, along with many doors now being given card mechanisms so they can audit whoever opened them and when. Unfortunately non of this strikes me as very proactive; I mean, sure they can find out that Gwad the greenie meanie opened such and such a door to let the builders in, but if Gwad really was a greenie nutter, then he wouldn't particularly be inclined to give a shit about that now would he?

Did you shave off the stach?
yes :(

yes :(

So who are you implying is behind it & why?

Surely if its' 'enemies' of Belgium, the 'West' would be all over it like a rash?

This might sound insane, but tbh I think that a rival power company is behind it. I read that the turbines FUBARing themselves after someone opened the valves cost something like 30M euros, not to mention the damage from the plant being inoperable for a while. that's a bit steep, and not exactly the greenie hippie MO you know. Also, hippies protesting something want to be seen, they want media attention. Terrorists are, sadly, rather similar. Mega-scale industrial saboteurs on the other hand....weeel let's just say that their fave thing is vanishing in the dark watches of the night. They don't tend to chain themselves to fences and sing Imagine and that kind of stuff.

OT: requested an RMA on my GTX780 TI. It doesn't work well under high load. Meh. I hate faulty kit :-(

On the other hand, I did tell them that I would like to exchange the card for two GTX 970's and pay any resulting extra costs. Back to SLI for the third time in my life. Each previous time I concluded it wasn't worth it and I'd never do it again. Lol, goooo me.

If you want to make a global statement you don't target Belgium lol. I'm sure with its connectivity it can maintain its power from the rest of Europe if necessary.

Why didn't it make the press here. It wasn't the nuclear reactor that was at risk mind just the bit that made leccy from steam. I wouldn't have thought industrial espionage mind. Difficult to say. Didn't have a terrorist impact about it though

Destiny commercials. Cool commercials, game in itself sounds like a half-a-fun, but exclusive.

"For the players" my arse.

The game itself is pretty terrible really, boring repetitive nonsense and the PvP is a joke, 6v6 in this day and age. I was bored within about an hour playing on my mates PS4, certainly not miffed it isn't on PC.

Got a perfect mark 100%, GET THE FUCK IN BABY!!!

you're at uni right? this *must* be lies!

the laws of uni say you will only get your mark AFTER the deadline for resitting your exam has expired, or after 5 weeks* when the lecturer fobbed off all the correcting work to some really stressed, over-worked junior, who spent about two minutes grading your 18 pages with complete disdain, disinterest, and a massive hangover, and just wrote FAIL after the first paragraph because you used a word he didn't know!!!

this insta-grade thing can not exist!!!12eleven

*whichever comes sooner

(congrats!! :D)

Was an oral english exam. Had to write an essay, and hand in before the exam, which I then needed to reflect on and discuss. Also had to draw an article out of a pile and discuss that. I got this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...-Scotland-must-move-on-from-constitution.html

I had thirty minutes of preparation to read the article and come up with what I wanted to point out. Then first I gave a presentation regarding my essay and then we talked about the article. Then they sent me out the door in order to discuss my grade. After that they let me in again and gave me the grade. Actually it is not like your 100% mark, but our grading system is a 7 step system. You can get

-3 - Receiving this grade will fail you, obviously. This is if you know nothing about the subject and you're so bad they have to deduct your overall grade
00 - Also a fail
02 - Just pass
4 - The average score
7 - Slightly above average
10 - Almost perfect, few faults
12 - Being the highest and an equivellant to an A+, which is the grade I got.

Overall a really retarded system, but hey, I can't complain :D

6v6 is bad as in you want more/less?

Ta, can switch my disappointment from that towards titanfall needing a monster machine to be enjoyable :D

I'm guessing destiny is a poor mans borderlands.

I wouldn't even say that. More like a poor mans defiance but with much smaller maps and less people.

Must admit I'm enjoying Destiny. Doesn't seem to break any new ground, but the game mechanics (running, shooting, aiming etc) are spot on, probably the best from an FPS I've played recently. No idea what the hell the plot's on about, and it does get a bit repetitive, but despite all that, I am really enjoying it. But then, I don't have a huge amount of time to play games these days, so something I can easily dip in and out of works well.

Shiny new Dell monitor to go with my Dell laptop when I arrived at work this morning. Monitor has a Display Port connection, laptop doesn't.
