"Brutal honesty" isn't an end in itself. It's a means to an end. Telling my sister plainly that she's put on a bit of weight helps not sugar coat the situation for her and motivates her. It works.

Doing the same in this situation would be a terrible idea. For loads of (quite obvious) reasons - but also because there's a load of stuff I haven't told you (which, incidentally, is why you've no fucking idea what you're talking about - because "insight" only comes with a full grasp of a situation - which you don't have).

And another being the less important; to actually practise what you preach.

Tbh ever persons relationship with their parents is their own business and non of us know the back ground to each other's entirely cause we weren't there. So have to take how they view them as fact.

Doesn't everyone go through life in awe of one of their parents, but then realises in adulthood that they're actually a bit of a dick? I love my parents, but as I reached my mid-twenties I realised that a lot of the things my dad said were simply bollocks and my mum was a genuine psycho. I thought all mums were the same, but I soon realised that she was simply a horrible person (she had premenstrual dysmorphic disorder). She hit the menopause and it all calmed down, we get on great now. I realised that family members just became "other people" as you became an adult, and that it's perfectly OK to dislike them. I can tolerate my sisters at family events, but one of my sisters in particular is just a twat. She's hated me since I was born, and she still doesn't like me - she's a classic man-hater. She can fuck off.

And your point is rubbish anyway, you can't possibly know anything further about Scouse because he mentioned in passing that his mum is a cunt on a forum. She might not be a cunt, does that make him more of a cunt? Is being a cunt hereditary?
