My fan belt came loose today on my car. A sound started as if something was scraping along the floor (I'm assuming it was the panel on the top of the engine), then my battery light came on, then my temperature fucking rocketed. Managed to get it home, I was probably about a quarter mile away, had a trail of water behind me and water all over the engine bay. Turns out my coolant bottle is now empty.

I'm considering just cutting my losses and buying something new, friggin' Vauxhall piece of shit.

Fan belt screams on the drive wheel. Usually stops once it gets traction. Ie. once you have set off.

Water over the engine bay sounds more like a burst pipe or radiation if your sure it was water.

Could be both together with the engine heating up. More pressure and a hose or something goes.

If it's just a fan belt and a hose would be cheap ish to fix

Pretty sure it was just water, it was clear after all. I don't know shit about what could be the actual problem, but burst pipe makes sense. All I know is the fan belt was dangling off and it was pissing what I think was water.

I'll have a look in the morning when it's light, see if there's anything visible burst.

I feel for you, I really do, my dad had an old friend for 40 odd years. (More or less lost said friend)

He was stupidly high in a job, but wasn't qualified for his position, so couldn't change company, and especially since he had multiple houses on mortgages from broken marriages caused by the job.

Sucks.

Don't get me wrong I can change jobs. I am, not stuck in one company.
I am, however, stuck on my current career path until I find a way to move into something different without a financial hit.

@dysfunctional know how you feel, wish I'd made a few different decisions along the way. Now I'm stuck working in Dubai until my son finishes secondary education. Company bosses that have turned down two transfers to US HQ because of being deemed too important to the business in the Middle East region. So now the only way I can leave is wait for the management to change or leave the company. Two jobs I have been for could not pay close to my salary or package. The only good thing is that the work is at least interesting and every time I try to make a move they bump my pay up. Still sux not being able to follow the path you want to.

We also just heard that that the company making my Nan and Granddads furniture (The sofa it is replacing they have owned for 30 years so they don't go for DFS stuff) has gone bust. They have taken the £5k almost a month ago as the furniture was shipped. It has apparently been held at customs while the Italian version of the receivers decide who owns it.

I have no idea how this will play out it was not purchased on a Credit Card which would have made things easier. But it is stuff we have paid for as a family sat in Italian Customs where the Administrators have asked for it to be held.

Company in Italy called my aunt today and told her what had happened, the lady called from home after being kicked out of the office

Apple today released a new update to their operating system. Going from ios7 to ios8. Ios being the name of said operating system.

In this update a number of programs were changed. Including safari which is apples own internet browser.

In the aforementioned post I was exclaiming my frustration of the changes to the said safari and the changes that have been made to it which make me lean things over again.

I was then getting in before all the apple neigh Sayers saying I know your gonna have a go cause I have an iPad and that I am some what inexperienced for choosing such device.
