A student from the class I've been doing a bit of part-time lecturing on asked me if he could meet up for coffee and get some advice about a content job he's going for. "No problem" says I, I turn up on my own lunch hour and he texts to say "oh I may be a bit delayed, can a call you back in a bit?" Cheeky fucking cunt.

I actually like helping people out with stuff to do with work and jobs (only yesterday I heard I'd successfully helped sort out an internship with a car company for the brother of one of my wife's best friends), but fuck 'em if they think you're on call...

So a guy who's got a shit load of experience into the role that this guy wants to go in offers to help him out with advice in that role, a role where time-keeping would be important, i'd imagine, then he decides he wants to be late.

I don't actually mind if someone is late because they were held up, but this was more..."I've got something more important to do, wait until I call you".

I have always wanted to ask a Linux head that. For me Windows is so intuitive and everything is where you want it and is easy. Linux though seems stupid (hard) and makes everything that little bit harder to do. I assume this is because I am used to Windows and that I can do the same on Linux should I spend time using it.

Never tried Linux. Windows works and always has. Getting any work done on my gf's mabook on the other hand... Hated ios on my iPhone and it is even worse on their computers

It's really a matter of what you are used to. Most people here i guess have more then ten years of experience with Windows. So using MacOS or a Linux distro for ten hours or ten days is not going to compare to what you used for thousands of hours.

MacOS is well polished and quite easy after a while. Some things are brilliant (touchpad swiping patterns for example), Linux is not as well polished as a desktop OS, but you can mod and change it to suit your exact special needs... if you have the time and interest to invest in it.

The reason i prefer Windows is that i know i can find any program i need for it. I don't have to "research" if OneNote runs on Mac or if the game i want to play can be made to run in Wine on my Linux installation (No on both).

And I know I own several 8gb Class 10 SD Cards now that I need one they are all fucking missing I have one in my Tablet and nothing else so they have been borrowed or they are hiding. Either way I am pissed off after about 3 hours searching. It may mean a trip to Argos in the morning.

I only have 1 filling which fell out about 2 years ago, so technically none I suppose. Dentists say I have exceptionally good teeth, tough enamel etc and I pretty much never get any problems (aside from having all 4 wisdom teeth out under general anesthetic)

I rarely visit the dentist because there doesn't seem to be a lot of point so it turns out I am not registered at my dentist any more and they are full, I am fairly sure they are just being cunts though. The tooth that the filling fell out of is giving me so much pain I nearly passed out yesterday but now I need to find a new dentist, in the meantime agony ahoy, can barely eat and hot drinks are a nightmare.

It is literally cheaper to get a flight to Poland or Hungary and have your teeth fixed there than go private in the UK. Good dentists too. My dentist is Polish (no NHS dentistry in Ireland) and while its worth staying here for the cheap stuff (I had a filling break a couple of weeks ago, about €110 to fix) if it was cosmetic work or something big like wisdom teeth, he would basically give me an appointment for his Warsaw office and treat me there for half the price. Same dentist.

Indeed. Thinking back, when we were around ten, a friend of mine went on and on abouc his Mac all the freaking time. Though, it was pretty awesome back then. No viruses, no slowdown or crashes ala windows 95 style. He had a huuge black and white 28 inch screen (which was huge back then) and one of those sphere-shaped thingies used to scroll the pointer and one button only to click.
