Microsoft will fill 75mb most of the time one of the places I work has a 300mb leased line and I have seen that tapped out via MSDN. HP on the other hand though would struggle to fill a half meg connection

I was watching TV a bit before christmas and a bit yesterday.

The advertising for christmas, from ym point of view, basically went like this

A- Heres this awesome thing that you must own to be happy! Buy now pay whenever!

or

B- Heres a load of things you must have to be a proper happy family, heres also a loan company who will give you the loan to buy them.


Been watching the Potter films on ITV and each commercial break had atleast one of those two combinations right after each other.

People are stupid yes, but I can imagine people sitting at home unemployed watching these adverts eventually getting mind suckered into thinking its ok....

IMO loans should not be advertised at all...ever.

Lol, stupid bitch. My mate works for Wonga - this is exactly the target demographic, no matter what their PR boys tell you. Interest payments guaranteed (for a while) by govt benefits. Amazing business model.

I didn't read it like that. I read it that they had loans and therefore accounts with these companies which they had paid back before. And then coming up to Xmas after her circumstances changed she got more loans and they didn't check so it was based on her previous ability so that makes her silly and possibly fraudulent as I sure there's somewhere in the small print that says you have to inform of changes. To give the loan companies a way out.
