Mät means measure though, mätt on the other hand means full (as in can't eat). Mätt can also mean measured (double meaning).

"Jävligt mätt" would have been the proper grammar of it as well.

It isn't my native tongue but thanks for the correction....

Delivery drivers who ring you up saying they can't find your (easily locatable) house, get given directions verbally and by text, then still don't turn up.

Yeah - we have had this before - I figure they are allowed a certain percentage of these and will use them for a break.

It's just random if it's you.

Having a tooth drilled for over an hour by an Endodontrist? looking for the four roots so he can fill them. To be told he hasn't found them all and he'll have to finish off when I go back in three weeks. Pain and aching jaw. There goes Christmas and New Year.

Not. True. The most powerful advertising medium in the world currently is Google paid search and most people using it don't even realise they're clicking on an ad, because its not "getting in the way", quite the reverse in fact.
I do and it's a pain seeing paid for links come up before the most relevant

It's official. We're involved in torture.

Clarke wants any investigation it to go away - because the investigation into state torture would interfere with ongoing criminal investigations.

He misses the point completely. The state has to have the highest level of scrutiny. Any hint of torture or criminal activity by the state far outweighs the importance of any conceviable criminal investigation that's being carried out into it's populace.

IMO - if the state is involved in torture then terrorism is fair game when it comes to acheiving attacks designed to weaken that state.

Edit: Also, it's disgraceful how empty the house is whilst this is going on. The topic goes to the very heart of the validity of our government.

A lazy friend, presumably. Ouch. I had a similar thing at uni. We had a group of 4, only two of us did any work. The prof just upweighted our marks to reflect the extra work we had to do to finish the project. Highest ever mark I got at uni: 95%

Had the same thing, except the two of us who were actually doing the work were too damn nice to do anything about it. The professor could blatantly see what was going on though and marked us all accordingly.

Sadly it's different: she was actually very skilled and had sweet funbags. She quit the course we were doing, and tried to help us out in her spare time. The problem that arose was that she simply was not under the same stresses and goals as the rest of us are, and after three separate lecturers advised us to, we made the choice to continue without her. I feel kind of bad about it because she offered to continue helping us after she quit and that was really nice. What also makes me feel like a heel is that she was super understanding about the whole thing. Sigh.

Then why do you feel bad? she's probably chuffed to bits.

Our new upstairs neighbour. He is gay(I dont mind that he is and I dont think his gf knows) and he plays fucking loud music as soon as he walks in the door. Mostly Cher's greatest hits. By now I know all the lyrics. But since we're in December we have also been blessed with various Christmas carols in an up-beat techno remix with a very christmasy amount of bass(read: A LOT!!)

Hopefully my boy will keep him up every night, once he arrives....

Everyone saying Breaking Bad is the best thing since The Wire

I watched the first 2 episodes of BB and it bored me to tears. Even the Walking Dead was better than that, and that was dismal.
I watched 1.5 seasons of the wire and couldn't work out what all the fuss was

Bring on Luther Season 4.

I felt that Breaking Bad improved each season up until the season4 finale, when the cancer starts getting worse and he has to take actions to get money for his family.

If you watched a whole season of the wire and didn't like it then fair enough, but I think you need to give breaking bad more than 2 episodes to get into.

I agree on both counts.

Luther is over i thought. There may be a movie but no season 4.

But... but... you're a gooner. Anything to do with taste and opinion from you can safely be ignored.

(You're right about Luther though. Sorry, Lamp)

I suffered from a lack of watching them early on. By the time I watched the first two seasons of The Wire I had been told it was that good that i expected Scarlet Johanson to walk into my room naked with a bottle of bear and a steak sandwich while proceeding to give me a 45 minute blow job. Instead I got a TV show that was not as good as The Sopranos and would not even crack my "personal" top 10.

Random quotation making me go from horny to intellectual in one go.

Some guy called @Scorn, who posted like 3 times, put this in @TdC's quotes database:
Scorn said:
There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, that specified that a concern for one's own safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane, he had to fly them.
Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of the clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle. "That's some catch, that Catch-22," he observed.
"It's the best there is," Doc Daneeka replied.

....

yeah. fuck off :)
