I have Wednesdays off every two weeks and Fridays every week, but other days it's like pointless lectures, I'd rather it so I had like 1 lecture + 1/2 seminars, to make things a bit more spread out, it's just depressing getting told to read 1364235625 books on the same day.

You know that you're there to further your education and that should be your priority, right? It's like you've *just* started uni and you're like "OMG LECTURES WTF"

No, I don't think you understand where I'm coming from, I get bombarded on one day, rather than spread out the week, the lectures, I don't care about, cos I don't get given work to do there, the seminars are a different story though.

I have no clue about Gwadien but i know for some people Uni is an excuse to get pissed up and party for a few years and the Degree is just something that gets in the way of that. It is why I find the idea of free tuition for all laughable.

A significant portion of the benefit from Uni is the socialising, though. It's where a lot of people *learn* to socialise as adults. The friends you make will probably be with you for the rest of your life and you're like to marry someone from Uni, too. Not to mention professional contacts being useful later down the line. Almost none of this has anything to do with actually getting a degree.

Meh, I see Uni as a stepping stone for me to become a teacher, that's more or less it, the piss ups are a commodity in my point of view, Freshers was OK, but much of it was so fabricated and frankly, a bit shit, (queing outside clubs for 3 hours for instance) So a few of us just stuck about the halls, like 20 of us or so, and just drank and had a laugh. I know a few people on here are like, it's the best part of your life, but I'm not sure if that meant University in general or the going with the crowd freshers stuff.

Freshers is brilliant but it does massively depend if you're at a campus uni or not.

It's not that, it's the fact it was -so- badly organised, like 2 unis worth of freshers going to the same club is a recipe for disaster, they should've communicated with the clubs more and had more clubs doing stuff during the week.

It was literally pre-drinks in the accommodation then straight out to the clubs, there was no advice over bars and stuff, was silly, and you got a bollocking if you left the crowd.

Thats why campus is better. Freshers events spread all over the campus AND town so everyone doesnt end up at the same place.

Of course it was fucking fabricated. What else could it be? A series of events designed to get people to understand how the University works and allow people to meet other people outside their own course and house. The fact that it sounds like it was badly organised doesn't devalue the idea. We had a Freshers Fortnight at my Uni and it was excellent, mainly because we had a pretty good SU, despite me detesting most of them (especially the one who ended up in Blair's government, can't remember his name now but he was a proper irritating twat).

People who talk utter bollocks, stupid people and Microsoft AX.

So I have been dragged in to help test a new function in our IT system, Microsoft AX, mostly because everyone else fails at being able to explain their own work processes...I think they basically press buttons in a certain order and have a surprised look on their face when the end result is sort of what they wanted...

Anyway the guy designing the function (Who knows fuck all about Microsoft AX) keeps saying things like "The system scurries off to get the information" and signs off an email with "we will return to the lists* next week and *medieval jousting reference.

He is now going to go off without really understanding what I have just spent the entire afternoon explaining to him and talk to a developer who is also seemingly unable to understand the software they work on day in day out and we are going to go around in circles for weeks.

I don't even get paid for this shit, I am not IT and I am certainly not an AX dev yet seem to know more about AX than our devs and the entire company I work for combined yet I am constantly being asked to step in or sort out peoples issues.

New job is needed.

If you ever have any say in a companies IT system, avoid Microsoft AX like the plague, its awful.

I may burst in to flames for saying this, but there are two things MS have done that I like. AX is not one of them though :-/

I felt a tremor in my bones when a Dynamics package was mentioned.

However, I have no opinion of the produt.

I loath non-technical project managers who are trying to manage a technical project.

"If you do this it might break?"
"No it wont"
"How so do you know"
"Because I've tested it"
"Where"
"You've not got the right security clearance for me to tell you"
"Still might not work"
"... It'll work"
"... Whatever, let's agree to disagree"

WAT?!

Building a new spec PC that runs CS:S at 2560x1440 at perfect fps, totally owning the server, then being accused of bots / wallhacks and being spectated by mods.

Nothing changes.

tbh I use mine for working on most of the time. Coding with this much screen estate is heaven. All the windows in the world open and room to spare.

Also, make sure your graphics card is manly enough. Took me a while to get my two Dells connected properly and working at max performance, had to use display port, nothing else would do.

People getting upset over some, i want to say non-issue, but that's not really a good word. Well, example;

People getting upset that Tonto in Lone ranger wasn't played by an authentic native american, while praising samuel l jacksons performance as nick fury.

Anyway, that is a bit on tits.

Nick Fury in the Ultimates comics is black (is a dead ringer for Samuel L Jackson in fact), which came out long before the films, so your analogy fails.
