I like this middle age stuff, but SWG seems interesting, its way og lvling etc, dosen't require 80% of your life as DAoC.

+ you might even end up with some people, that knows how to run a MMORPG (HI GOA!)

if starwars galaxies has :

true skill based classes (powerplay)
good pvp
freedom (i hate running at the plains killin all the unlucky foes i see just for exp coz there is no other way to lvl)
good monsters with some ai (i hate the monsters that just agro when they see u)
changing enviroment (cities build where the people gather)

and last to make u feel u are in star wars!!!

And u still havea life? LOL!! I played UO for 2 years, quit cause I played DaoC beta constantly and never touched UO once, now after playing DaoC since day 1 of beta, having a lev 50 shadowblade and a few lesser chars, I can safely say I am getting thoroughly bored of it. There's just not enough people on the servers for my liking.

As for SWG - I'm gonna start up a smuggling guild - fuck jedi and bounty hunters. Scum. And you can only get in the guild if your over 18 (ie. act mature) and are a dedicated roleplayer.

I can't understand how people can say now that they will? If not a beta tester in this state, how can you say for sure that you will play that game instead? What says that it will be better? Just curious, cause afaik all mmorpg has problems, none is perfect and I can't see why swg will be different...

Christ no, I expect SWG to have even more problems than all the other MMORPGS put together, but what I'm saying is that having played DaoC since day 1 of beta I now want to move on cause I'm bored. Perhaps when we get 1.49 it will maintain my interests for a month or so longer what with DF and epic armour.

I can understand that. Why I wonder is that you seem so sure that you will move to this game without even trying it. Or am I wrong, are you in the beta? I'm just surprised people say they are going to move to a game which they don't know at all how it will be (apart from readin a couple of faqs written by the developers). Please enlighten me

I didn't know a thing about DaoC yet I started playing it straight away with a 6 month sub - I didn't know a thing about UO when I started playing it. By all rights I should have detested both of them since I'm no fan of the fantasy genre itself and think most of those that play these kind of games are geeks...

I'm also no fan of SW either (apart from the darkside ESB), and think SWG will be full of geeks - that won't stop be playing it and most probably enjoying it. I can't remember the last time I DIDN'T enjoy a game - even if it was only for a brief time. Maybe something like VRally on the playstation which I didn't like at all from the moment I saw it.

If I try SWG and find it totally sucks and have sold my DaoC account it won't matter to me as I spend too much time playing MMORPGs anyway... so it'll be a blessing in disguise.

No intention of going to SWG -- the setting for DaOC is far superior IMHO. And, as others have said, SWG will appeal to a much younger audience, much younger than me anyway

Thank you for explaining this. I can fully understand you. I just can not get myself to believe that everyone who says they'll switch to SWG have the same sound thinking. But thats an other story.

Since I've gathered friends on the official SWG boards for more than 1.5 years I'll be sure to play the game when it's out! Unfortunatly didn't make the first beta round which starts in a couple weeks, but hoping for the second one... You'll see a lot less of me in DAoC then...
