Not a f#####g chance mate (pardon my language but im both pissed as I'm just back from a binge and I really mean it!)

I was the original Star Wars fan, all the toys and watched the movies over a hundred times each. But I HATE (I really cant overstate how much by the way, But lets say somewhere between Osama Bin Laden and the Spanish Inquisition) the new films SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much that I refuse to give that evil, dirty MF Lucas ANY more money, ever.

Even if the game is the bloody greatest game ever.

Just say NO to SWG!!

I dont care if it makes no sense what so ever just dont play it ever please!!

edit: I just re read this in the morning and through the dim haze of my hangover I feel I may of sworn too much so I've edited the language a bit. Still dont want to play it.

Well I know people who have played UO for nearly 5 years... that's cause it's constantly evolving and there's so much more to do in there than DaoC. Maybe with upcoming patches DaoC will add more content and different styles of gameplay (ie. not everything in the entire game based around RvR), but if that doesn't happen I can't see it having much lastability.

SWG Sucks

it's too popular, too many morons, idiots, l33t doods, children, its just gonna be screwed up by the players.

I'm not even gonna try it.

Would be cool, if a bunch of stealthers could go into a keep and assasinate the guard and open the doors for the main force.

Hmm, my UO account is now 37 months old and I have to say that sure it lasted me for around 2-2½ years but actually when you think about it... there are many more things to do, but the things are not that complicated, most of it comes down to macroing in the end (pre-trammel times were extremely fun though)... that game is more of a "live out the life of your character" with its sailing/treasures/mininng/alchemy/tailoring/etc./etc./etc. but DAoC has very likely the most complicated combat in any of the MMORPG's which imho it is excellent... sure I miss decorating my has like in UO but then again in time.... who knows...
I will be playing this game for quite some time to come still and SWG will be on my "try it out list" I guess.

From what ive seen so far im definetely going SW:G :)

and i find it hard to see how it will appeal to l337 d00ds and CS-fan boys, since they wont be able to powerplay to be a jedi.

Thing that appeals most to me? They way you can mentor "lowlvs" (theres no lvls in swg) and how the players can create the environemnt, and all aspects can be played by players.

I would bet a fair amount of gold that the Sony/verant team keeps an eye on other mmorpg to stay away from the errors done, and minimise the whining and such.

I hop:).

UO started too with "be nice"

but it became so low that you could even swear on the GMs and they didnt do anything

If so many people are going to leave DAoC for SWG. Surely there wont be many people left to rvr with in DAoC, which may make the game a tad boring, then people will leave the game to play other games ( or mmorpg's ). I'm gonna keep my DAoC account as i have done with UO, but im still gonna try out SWG. If its good then i may close my DAoC account and stay with SWG, if its pants then vice versa. I'm not much of a roleplayer but i find the games exciting, interacting with people who im never going to meet and having fun. ok i've had my say now :) see ya.

Daoc life span as a game isnt very long as there is very little to do sep kill monsters or people or sit down and make things. i dont think daoc will die off if the add-on implements housing and new things to do (gambling :))

but i think people would try the new ones and move to em if they are better,

change to title from SWG to SWG or World of warcraft :) and you know blizzard make quality games ;)

I miss my .kill command from UO - gee, I could be naughty at times :) The sleep bug in Sphere was rather amusing as well, until I got killed by someone using it. Needless to say I took a gruesome revenge :)
