'Early access to demos' really means delayed access for non-subscribers.

some demos

Oh come on, PSN isn't exactly being swamped in new demo's as it is, you trying to tell me that they won't cherry pick the best ones for Plus members and screw the rest of us? Reality check on aisle 2 please.

The best aspect of PSN was just removed, it is now a 2 tier system amd no amount of dancing around the subject or burying your head in the sand is going to change it. At least MS were honest from the start, Sony keep moving the goalposts. Remember backwards compatibilty and linux support anyone?

Lol nice but sorry i read the Sony blog rather than the article about it, which does not mention member only demos. PlayStation Plus: Your Questions Answered – PlayStation Blog

You must be fucking blind or wearing your Sony goggles again.

Finally, wherever possible we’ll be making sure that members are included in selected demos and beta trials before they go live to everyone else, so you can be the one to tell all your friends about the next big game they ‘must’ get.

Selected demos, just like XBL where they cherry pick the best demo's for Gold members.

Does it matter that much?

If you're a hardcore PS3 gamer, go buy it and enjoy it. For the price of a game a year you'll get plenty of additional content, reduced pricing on various content, etc. If you buy that many games then the cost of this will be just something minor in comparison.

For people like me who have a PS3 and just a few games, it'll be pretty much the same old service as usual.

Thats it, play word games instead of admit that it amounts to the same thing. The best demo's will now go to the Plus members first, the bloke who bought his PS3 console in good faith when PSN was free and a single tier system now gets screwed and you still won't see it.

This is why you Sony fanboi's can not be taken seriously, you all dance around the issues instead of seeing what is in plain sight.

You said one thing which which i pointed out was wrong then you started attacking me so i defended my statement, I have not tried to defend ps plus once. I just stated exclusive and early access is not the same thing. Now pop a tampon in and calm down.

P.S. i would not say i have been a Sony fan boi for a while now but dont let that get in the way.

Oh for gods sake, first of all I am not just replying to you but to the people who posted above you. Second you said the blog does not mention member only demo's, it does. Christ knows why but it has taken half a dozen posts for us to get to the point where everyone understands that PSN Plus will have demo's only accessible to subscribers even if for a limited time. It is now a two tier system, Sony have moved the goal posts yet again. If you all cannot see that then I am sorry but you are all deluded. What was once a free network has now changed and mark my words will change again. Sony have seen the XBL numbers and the cash it generates so now they want a peice of the pie even if it means screwing over the 35 million PS3 owners who bought the PS3 when it was a totally free network, or the millions who bought it based on backwards compatibilty and linux support.

Are Sony still doing the paid demos idea, where you get access to the whole game but parts of it are disabled then you pay your money and the rest of the game gets opened up to you? Remember reading it on Gamespot a few months ago. If the price is a reduced rate than a full price game, it sounds like a good idea.

Part of Playstation Plus will let you download a full game and play it for an hour rather than play a demo level.

And cHodAX yet again I never said different so don't quote me on a rant if its not aimed at me if it was aimed at me read what i said again.

Oh do stop talking such complete and utter drivel. Nowhere in that blog does it mention PSN members not getting stuff PSN Plus members get, they just get it later. So? PSNP isn't going to affect the fundamental online side of things at all, namely firing up a game and playing against people on it. It seems to me more to be about content than the gaming experience itself. I'd say members may get earlier access to betas and early demos, nothing too serious. Sony aren't muppets at the end of the day.

Oh and linux support. LolZ. 7 people in the UK used that, as it was fairly limited. Only 1 core of the Cell was useable and the GPU was disabled.

*awaits usual Sony blinker based reply, and so the circle continues*

The circle continues because you are blind, hell if you were blinkered we might actually get somewhere. Face facts, Sony pull features they advertised and that punters bought into. True or false? It is that fucking simple, don't dodge it, just answer.

They promised a free PSN when they launched, now they have 'altered' the scenario so all those people who bought into a free PSN when they paid for the thier PS3 are now left with a choice. Either pay a sub or wait an undefined period for access to demo's.

It won't be the last change either mark my words, I will glady post again when it happens and dig up a few old quotes. Infact if we get any more stupid with these replies I might go digging for the comments where people were saying such wonderful things about PSN being free, Linux support and hardware backwards compatibility. Things you now say don't matter because Sony told you they don't right? There would be alot of egg on faces I am sure.

Moving the goalposts is moving the goalposts. That said, believing that a company will do anything other than try to make money is stupid.

Well that is my issue really bud, fair enough have a 2 tier system and do stuff like the trials/betas along with a certain amount of games per month from the store. I cannot fault them for that at all.

What irks me is that demo's have always been free on PSN and now they are not, yes yes I know they will be after an undefined period of time but part of the attraction of PS3 for me was not having to wait on demo's unlike with the 360. Both companies have fucked up in this regard but at least Microsoft were honest about it from very early on.

Either way none of them will get a monthly subscription off me, neither has totally lived up to thier word but pulling features is something that really pisses me off.

Because they own a PS3 and do not own an XBox360? That seems like a plenty good reason for one.

Sometimes Aada, the fanboy thing really goes too far :p

I think the bigger question would be, why would anyone pay for any of this shit regardless of console platform...
