Tbh the only consoles i really seem to have anything really said anything about is the DS/Wii/360.

My housemate has a 360 and its a really nifty bit of kit, i dont have a Wii (or even a TV) yet but i will get one when i can/have money to spare, i have a DS and im really really impressed by it.

At the end of the day some people will play what is advertised well, if its good they tell there mates and they get it themselves. With the current attitude towards the PS3, "its too expensive", "if i wanted a blu ray player i would get one on its own cheaper and i already have a 360 anyway", i dont see its sales improving and no sales = no future for a product.

Even though i am a ninty fanboi i still contend the best gaming platform is the PC. Oh and thats another thing, i would NOT be happy owning a console that required me to install the game, thats one of the things that makes consoles attactive, no faffing around casual fun.

And in regards to the earlier post about people not wanting 5 devices in there living room, i would, i would want each device to be DEDICATED to its relevant function.

Traded it in after 2 months when i realised it was a complete waste of money what i wanted it for films etc it was too much hasle putting it onto a memory stick and UMD's another failure? price wise they were a JOKE.

I just had to dig mine out from a pile of junk because I hadn't used it since July (when I moved house). There were some great games in the first half of this year (Patapon is my game of the year still, Crisis Core, God of War) but nothing much since. I could have sunk hundreds of hours into MHF2 but I bailed out before getting too involved

Incidentally the reason I just got it out is to re-play FF9 on it. It's perfect for old PS1 RPGs.

If i could chose a console it would be a PS3 cause it would do everything (like yaruar says ) i need it to do instead of having a couple of machines to do it.

I have to say a Wii is interesting aswell but i think i would lose interest in that quite fast.

Oh come on, you've got to admit that's a total fanboy attitude. Gears of war is one of the most overrated games ever made, the Halo series probably taking the #1 spot on that list.

I've got a PS3 because:

- first and foremost: blu-ray with HD audio, fucking tremendous at it (wii and xbox don't get a lookin here) - and the Wii looks complete shite on my 6 feet screen with it's distinct lack of HD graphics
- secondly, awesome as a wireless media centre. Add Play TV and it's absolutely unique console concept (a freeview box that plays blurays and also lets you play games? it'll suck your cock next firmware update)
- thirdly, build quality; piano black sits well within a leet audio stack
- fourthly, seems to have all the games i need (tiger woods, pro ev, guitar hero world tour, burnout, GT5, GTA4, assasin's creed... where's the lack of games?) but then again I don't play a lot of games.

I'm serious when I say "where's the lack of games", because I admit I don't play a lot of games - is there a lot of great stuff that I can't get for the PS3?

For what it's worth, FPS games on ALL consoles suck a big cheesy donkey cock and you all fucking KNOW IT TO BE TRUE , so get a good PC, a mouse ( ) and stfu.

Will's post about each's strength sums it up. For parties, the Wii is absolutely fantastic, four player mario kart and lots of beers is just great, but I was bored shitless playing the Wii on my own. I love the Wii, it's great, but I wouldn't trade it for my PS3 any day.

The PS3 was mis-sold imo. It should have been touted as a "does all" high definition media hub that also plays the latest games.

To be honest my PS3 isn't that quiet anyway.

It may not be quiet, but it is not noticeable over the volume of the game/music/movie you are playing. It does not force you to put the volume up just to drown out the jet engine sound the 360 puts out when spinning discs.

I have never moaned about having to install games, and I think it's great we can now. Fable 2 and fallout 3 seem to be constantly spinning the drive and make huge amounts of noise, it is really annoying.
