PS3 has lost to Wii and Xbox360 (discuss)

Seems to me the playstation pads are designed with the D-pad as the focus, and the 360 with the analogue as the focus. The PS3 pad will almost certainly be better for beatemups and other such d-pad focused things, but I'd not wanna use it for an FPS.

yep, the analogue sticks on the 360 controller are indeed in the right position, although I don't like the d-pad at all.

It's miles ahead of the ps3 controller though. If I wan't to be good at fighting games, then i'm buying a prober fighting stick.

Beat em ups are few and far between these days though.

What gets me about the PS3 pad is just the analogue stick positions, maybe i'm abnormal but my thumbs don't naturally relax in a horizontal position they relax at a slight angle.

With using the PS3 pad your thumbs are forced to go horizontal and after a while playing COD5 my hands started to hurt.

Who's betting a lot of the 5000 will be going from the gaming division. When you're running a business it ends up being the departments making the biggest loss that get cut first. I'd wonder if they'd go from the QC department but I'm not sure they do tha with 360's.....

16,000 at the last count with potentially another 10,000 over the next year. Very sad state of affairs to be honest, I don't enjoy seeing anyone made redundant no matter who they work for. Methinks we are all in for a real rough ride over the next 3 years, especially those of us in the almost bankrupt U.K.

Right how does this work exactly? I look at things from a business perspective, and get told to grow up? Given that I actually work in business and don't live in my parents basement and toss myself off silly over having to pay to play your games online like yourself I feel I can do a quick business analysis on MS' gaming division, which is losing money hand over fist. I know for a fact that departments in the company that I work for that lose money don't tend to last too long.

Holy necro thread Batman. I wanted to revisit this thread since it was started almost a year ago to the day to see where the land lies now. What prompted me to do this were the following articles:

and an article from about the end of July this year:

While this is merely an estimation of future sales according to current sales trends, it does nonetheless reveal that Sony has been selling PS3s at a faster rate than Microsoft has Xbox 360s. This is despite higher total sales for Microsoft's console, which are the result of a one year head start on the market.

I'm not a 360 fanboy but %ages reek of bullshit, if they sold 100 games in the PS3 store and sold 160 in year two that would also be a 60% year on year increase. It would additionally be pathetic.

M$ is not doing itself any favours by not having reacted to the Blueray format trashing HD-DVD. Additionally the 360 in 2015 or whatever it was = lolfunny.
