Sorry but that goal wonk's posted is just a cracker. pace, control, and the prescence of mind to take it past the keeper again and score from a seriously acute angle.

:worthy: just class :worthy:

difference being agger is actually a decent player besides that :p. risse was a one-trick pony of the worst kind and got totally exposed in games against good teams.

i can't really disagree with that g. johnson goal for at least the epl goal of the season.

Heskeys barely been playing for Villa recently though if memory serves correct?

Guess Carrick isn't better than Lampard ;) Wonder how Capello will play it, he can't really leave Lampard or Gerrard out on recent form, but he won't play 3 in the middle of the park.

He hasn't fit in with our system too well, and he's also been injured -- usually from England duty. Capello does seem to like him as the battering ram up front, though, so it seems probable that he will play.

In midfield I would think Gerrard will play wide left and Barry/Lampard in the middle. AFAIK Carrick is injured, so its not a matter of him being dropped because of his Champions League horror show.

He has to be better than Scolari :p He's a good age and has managed at a top level for a long time, now he's been given a great squad so it shouldn't be that hard.

I'm hoping Milans love for old people was a lot down to Berlusconi since he seemed to do most tranfers.

Imagine if he brought Nesta, Pirlo and Kaka with him. Chelsea would be unstoppable.

The muppet that ruined Madrid with the gallactico policy is back. Good luck to him in his dick swinging contest, but I doubt he will get more than one of the 6 players he has targeted.

Wait and see.....

Kaka is nailed on. Ribery is 99% and Villa/Ronaldo 50/50. I dont know who the other targets are. Possibly Alonso and someone else.

Yeah, where is the money coming from this time, and please show the story that shows kaka is a done deal? All I have seen is rumours and more rumours, The way Madrid go about their transfers I wouldn't be surprised if they got no one they wanted this season, and the chased the players for the next two years. Finally getting one of them just so Perez can claim he delivered on his election pledges.

Where have the found the 300m by the way?

The spanish banks fall over themselves to lend Real madrid money because they get it back and then some. Real madrid will recoup the 70m euros it will cost to sign Kaka in less than a year by whoring themelves around the far east for friendlies. They can charge 25m Euros + for a single friendly in Japan.

You mean like last time, when perez delivered a galactico every season? They hardly had to chase the players they wanted did they. The only man they havent got, who they wanted is Ronaldo, who, and you can kid yourself that he doesnt, wants to sign for Real madrid. Its united playing hardball, but you cant blame them.

Real madrid are the biggest draw in football. Its a bitter pill to swallow as a barcelona fan, but its true, even so much that Villa is holding off signing for Barca because his dream move is Real madrid.

They got Robben, after 2 season of chasing him, after his chelski career was over due to his constant injuries, they got van Nistelrooy, after Fergie shut him out of the squad. They target players and then, because of the public way they make approaches, ahve to fight with the clubs involved to get them. Often they get the players long past their prime, or in the season they wanted them in. They have had no true Gallicticos there since Zidane. Madrid may be a big draw, but their appeal is fading along with their form. The constant change of policy with the change of presidents does not help. I also doubt the amount the banks will lend Madrid in the current climate, the other presidential candidates could not even gaurentee the £50m needed to run for the role because of a lack of bank funding.

As for Ronaldo, I have never said he does not want to play at Madrid. But we will not sell him cheap, nor will he go without Fergie getting his way - Fergie making sure Ronaldo goes after having a bad season, or falling out with him first. I also think Ronaldo does not want to go to Madrid as they are now - rebuilding and struggling, and knows at his age he can wait it out a season or two more.

edit:// Also Perez is going to have to rebuild a lot of bridges that Calderon burned.

The players you mention is different, because Real madrid had abandoned their galactico policy by then. No player will turn down Madrid, with the exception of some high profile barca players. Again, you can kid yourself that their appeal is waning. I can guarantee its not. As for the banks not lending the other candidates the money, thats because they would be lending it an individual, not the club and dont forget, Perez is a multi billionaire. He could stump up the 300m euros if he had to and would have recouped it within a few years.

While you seem to think I under-estimate the lure and power of Madrid, I think you greatly over-estimate the same things. The state of football and the power of the Spanish league is not the same as it was in 2002 when Perez first came along.

edit:// Galliani (Milan assistant coach) has been quoted as saying they club would find it hard to turn down a big money move for Kaka this summer. Now obivously Madrid are linked with him, but I think Chelski may have more of a chance of getting him - does anyone who follows Serie A have any insight into Kaka's relationship with Ancelloti, is he likely to move to follow the man?

BBC SPORT | Football | Europe | Perez to return as Real president

No mention of funds available to him here, what articles have you been reading, links please.

Out of the targets mentioned there I would say Ribery is the player they could manage to sign with the least amount of fuss.

I havent read any articles yet, except for the BBC sports article. A friend of mine who works at Barcelona mentioned it an email last night that the talk around there is that he has a warchest of 200m - 300m euros and that Kaka is nailed on and to be unveiled within a couple of weeks. Milan vice president has been trying to convince Gourcuff to come back to replace kaka
