You were not the only premier league team they played Soze, and also, you aren't big boys, hell your squad is barely toilet trained ;p

Next year will be interesting because, judging from this season alone, there are 6-7 teams that are poor enough to get relegated from the Premier League. However, we don't know how teams are going to play next season. I think it will be similar to this season, where 4-5 teams are in the relegation fight until the very end.

I can see the 3 promoted teams going straight back down.

But then I said that last year!

Interesting article from Guilleme Balague, stating that ROnaldo DOES have a pre contract with Real Madrid, but the favourite to become president of Real Madrid, doesnt want to sign him, which means they are breaking the pre contract agreement and will have to pay Ronaldo a fair whack in compensation.

Now surely this isnt allowed? I thought you had to agree with the club before you talk to a player.

I think that Hull and Burnley will go down next season. However, I'm not sure about the last relegation spot.

Maybe RM have asked Ronaldo to buy out his contract and they will pay him back with a signing on fee hence no need to talk to Man U?

But they have still spoken to him about a move, without the permission of man united

Chel$ki did the same for Ca$hly it seems it's just what happens now. Speak to the player make sure he's interested then speak to the club. Or in reality unsettle the player then buy him cheap. Not that different to Torres they had bigger offers but he would only go to Liverpool no? Must have been some talking there.

Harry leaving has not ruined Pompey he jumped ship when he saw they were in trouble its just another reason to hate him ;)

As for Burnly they did not hang with the big boys they beat the Arsenal Carling cup squad at home, but the half a first them that played them in the FA Cup had no problems. It upsets me when they say htey beat Arsenal when a look at the team will show they beat the Arsenal Reserves, but im not bitter

burnley beat more then 1 prem league side this season, infact wasnt it 5 or 6 sides they beat?

Yes may not be the first team, however in case of arsenal all the fans rave how good their youngsters are it shouldnt have been a problem putting up with a championship side. But hey, nevermind. They beat arsenal. it was the arsenal first team they playing not a reserve match, just because they didnt field the strongest side doesnt detract from the fact that it was a first team game.

The big final is tomorrow, what do you guys think will happen? I am wondering whether I am allowed to bump the Champions League thread but that is on page 5 - would that be appropriate or should a new thread be made?

I thought the I'm not bitter but gave away it was in jest, but I still maintain beating a team in a cup game as a lower league side when you get taken lighly does not mean they will get similar results in a league game. But I'm glad they came up they play entertaining football.

Arsenal Double winners at under 18 level with more than one English player on the park!

hull were only in relegation zone for 5 days this entire season surely that means they deserved to stay up? :D tottenham were down there longer!

i can see Wigan going down if they dont hold on to some of their key players and buy some more, went a bit tits up after jan, Fulham, Everton and Aston Villa ones to watch i suppose (especially Villa the way they played at start of the season with a bit more depth they might carry it further!)

i also hope they stop treating Europa League (i guess we'll have to get used to calling it that instead of UEFA cup) like a joke, yeah Champs Lg is better but come on, if you dont want to be in it aim for 8th or 9th place for gods sake :p

It is a horrible, horrible competition. Don't get me wrong, I like playing in European competition and seeing different countries and encountering different players and tactics than we meet in the Premier league ... but to win the thing you have to play out what is effectively half a Premier league season.

It is a ridiculous number of games! I can see us fielding a reserve team in it right from the outset, and rightly so.

UEFA said they were going to make the UEFA Cup a better competition ... so they made it longer. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

EDIT: And as for next seasons hopes, I would be happy for another top six season. If we finish with more than 60 points again it will be the first time in our club history that we've had 60+ points in three consecutive seasons. I think the squad needs a bit of pruning though, and some better quality additions if we are going to make a better fist of competing with the "big four".

UEFA just want to create revenue for the clubs that do not take part in the champs league, hence the increase of games in the Europa league (league/ cup?). what they fail to understand is that these teams do not have the squad depth or resources to realistically maintain a league challenge to improve their position while also trying to win the Europa League. It devalues the competition when teams do not care about it. It would have been better as a traditional knock out cup competition.

But the players have to have a say in what club they get sold to. How would some players handle getting sold to Spartak Moscow or Chinese outfit in Guangzhou? Basic human rights, you have a say in where you go. Your not a comodity to bought and sold by a corporation.

The way it should work is Arsenal fax Man U and say "we are interested in buying Ronaldo" then when the two clubs agree a deal the player has the final say he can reject Arsenals contract and stay where he is (so he can't end up anywhere he does not want to be). Any other approach is agaist the rules. Ronaldo decided to sign that contract at Man U he was not forced and i do see it as breaking his Human Rights to expect him to play it out.

You are arguing about a moot point. This news came from Guilleme, he gets his info from spanish journos and spanish football club officials, therefore it is anything they can come up with to create a headline and try to upset players.

According to the Beeb, Sunderland have begun talks with Bruce after reaching a compensation agreement with Wigan.

I would say Bruce has taken Wigan as far as they can go, they can never build as they need to sell their stars, he would be stuck in an endless cycle of developing players and selling them. Sunderland with the cash that Short brings gives him the chance to build something.

No he doesnt. He gets his info from the players or their agents and has a reputation for NOT printing hearsay. Hence, why he is held in high esteem by the spanish players.
