Maybe you should read WTO rules.
Ambiguous doesnt describe it.
You cant give preferential tarriffs unless you are in a club..like the EU..then you can..so just start a fucking club.
A few minutes spent reading the 'rules' clearly shows they make it up as they go along...and the reality is that might decides the policies.
Or you could just tell the WTO to fuck off...what they gonna do?

It was hardly a long read.As if you read that.
As if you read that.
A united states of europe could and probably should have an army.
Other than my objections to war in genersl, it seems like a natural consequence.
@Job, aside from the fact you don't like the idea itself, if the EU was indeed the USofE then what would be your objection, if any, then.
@Wij - it"s coming, right? You know that?
None..Im only mentioning it because regardless of what they say they need an army and they need a borderless empire if they want to realise their final goal.A united states of europe could and probably should have an army.

K.
What's the final goal btw? And, clearly you don't like the idea, so - if you could tell us why you don't like it - and what you'd like to see instead.
Edit: Don't get paranoid. Actual genuine engagement here.![]()
Because with the US going after a more isolationist approach and threatening NATO I think it's probably a wise idea to put soldiers on the border with Russia and not allow it to be down to the financial situation of the individual nations that border Russia.
Also communication across armies of different countries has always been awesomely terrible throughout history, and with a Russian attack being a super duper Blitzkireg on crack then it would be a good idea to be better organised.
Also, it'd be cheaper and more weaponry can be made in the EU rather than buying US stuff.
Wtf.
Seriously, someone needs to remind them of the purpose of Airbus.
A French company built with European partners money? I worked with them for 30 years and they always promote France INC over any other vendors.
At the end of the day, Airbus cannot make the aircraft without the wings, BAe owns the IP on the design and tooling/manufacture process. It would takes years (5-10) to develop an alternate and billions of $ that Airbus cannot afford right now. Especially with the impending A380 line run down and closure. They have no choice but to work out a quick way forward to keep the production lines running.
Regardless of the usually overstated and politically minded headlines I did see that France and UK had already set aside 24 Million Euros to create trade deals.
No..but in reality they do, its called being high up in the club.
They will stay because its too much trouble to move..if it wasnt they would have moved to Romania the day we let them in.
BAE doesn't own the IP on Airbus wing design; EADS do. They gave up their rights when they sold their 20% stake in Airbus UK. The only wing IP held outside Airbus is in the A220 and that's only because Bombardier held on to it when Airbus took over the programme. Second, even if BAE did own the IP rights, so what? BAE don't own the factories the wings are made in or have any responsibility for the staff, who've been Airbus employees since 2006, and let's face it, BAE absolutely does not give a shit about manufacturing in Britain for its own sake; just like BP, they renamed themselves BAE to hide the "British" in their name. If BAE is getting any residual IP payments for Airbus wings, they'll still get paid even if Airbus are making them in Spain.
As for; I did see that France and UK had already set aside 24 Million Euros to create trade deals. France can't create trade deals.
