It also kinda means that Blighty tacitly admits that it's lost northern ireland.

Sort of an economic annexing in favour of the EU, n'est-ce pa?

Au contraire, if a privileged position can be found for Norn Irn that enables them to benefit from access to both markets, then they may find leaving the UK more difficult.

However, it appears part of Boris' deal is continued Single Market Mebership for NI with no CU - with a vote on continued SM membership in 2024. That will pretty much be a reunification vote by proxy, so if that's what the North wants - let them go.

Out of interest though, has anyone asked the Republic if they agree with reunification? As I've spoken to more than a few Dublin residents who weren't sold on the idea.

I think Dubs could indeed vote their economic interests (half the people here are blow-ins like me anyway), but the rest of the Republic would follow their romantic instincts and vote for unification; there's too much of their self-image wrapped up in a 32 county Ireland for it to go any other way.

Taking on a bunch of surly prods would be no picnic though.

No..just reminding everyone that the EU is a temporary bureaucratic monstrosity that is widely opposed across Europe..in fact one of the founding countries prefers an anti EU party in the polls.

Please don't tell me you're referring to The Brexit Party, or I might piss myself.

@Job don't you think Boris is capitulating to the EU after announcing JUST before he enters negotiations that he will ask for an extension?

Maybe he knows one of the EU members will deny it? :)

Just keeping them guessing
Not the EU..they are starting to look like the third party in all of this
Now brexiters have spend the time evading remainers tricks.

To deny democray.

Thats all it is and all it will be remembered as, no matter how they try to spin it.

Right, so when Brexiteers say that they want an extension they're doing it to 'keep them guessing'

But when Remainers say it, it's capitulation, right.

Bullshit - he is appeasing / bullshitting gullible Brexit fans like you @Job (note I didn’t say all Brexiters as even frog mouth is not taken in). Unless he wants a potential prison sentence he has to comply with the new legislation.

Yeah, of course I do!

The one that you support is good.

The one that you don't support is bad.

:)

It's a bit like Trump asking for his rivals to be investigated whilst he also does some pretty shitty stuff.

"Dear EU. I hearby formally ask for an extention to current timescales.

I also think you'd be mad to grant it. But I'm required by a law passed by parliament to do so.

Please reject my formal request for extention. Which I've formally made. Or we'll never get anything done and be going round in circles for years.

Yours

Bozza"

Heres a Tory voting brexiter I follow.
Hes perfectly level headed, informed and just explains the daily events..with a hint of bias, but no ranting.

Yes that is Maggies book on the shelf.

Was just getting off the bus and it sounded like the kind of guff he spouts so didn’t check. My bad.
There are people on this forum who apologise when they fuck up, and then there's @Gwadien, who's the biggest cunt on god's green earth!
