Au contraire, if a privileged position can be found for Norn Irn that enables them to benefit from access to both markets, then they may find leaving the UK more difficult.
However, it appears part of Boris' deal is continued Single Market Mebership for NI with no CU - with a vote on continued SM membership in 2024. That will pretty much be a reunification vote by proxy, so if that's what the North wants - let them go.
Out of interest though, has anyone asked the Republic if they agree with reunification? As I've spoken to more than a few Dublin residents who weren't sold on the idea.
