ofc you do, I'm awesome :)

been to Kulturbrauwerei and Prater biergarden. tomorrow the tea drinking vegans fight the power as it is the first of May and thus riots are planned. as our hostel guy said: it's a big street party until people start running.

kind of meh, since all my travel partner has with him is more or less standard protester gear, eg black hoodie, black skinny jeans, allstars. he fails at his anti-globalisation thing with his ray-bans, semi-vintage Ramones tshirt, and designer hair, but other than that he's clearly a molotov tossing leftie.

I'll try to upload some pics...

yeah man, I really should go back, because 2,5 days was barely enough for the touristy thing and about a third of the district I was in o0

Where did you stay?

I saw loads doing a walking tour then just randomly walking around. I agree it's a massive city, but outside of the central east side there isn't much to see.

Did you go for breakfast at the dome above parliament? I hope you went on a bar crawl with some young backpackers!

nah, not there Chet. mostly at a place called Antipodes:
Antipodes
srsly some of the best coffee and morning foods I have ever had, and close to the hostel too :)

had the most delish hot choccy I've ever had in my entire life at Fassbender & Rausch chocolatiers. bit of a shock because I've had some good ones, but this was in a class of it's own :)

I did a walking tour, one of the free ones, and it was done by a fellow named Matt, from Yorkshire of all places, who was extremely knowledgeable but also injected a good dose of humor, sarcasm and cynicism into his talks. walked for a good six hours and then had to get back too hur hur.

I'll post more when I remember things. Got to work now :(

lol, did you think he looked a bit like hugh laurie as well? ;-)

aye, it was wasn't it. I went easy on myself and got a normal one as that morning I was so hungover I nearly passed out with beer sweats at breakfast, but still, it was tremendous!

I stayed at the circus hostel near weinmesierstrase (yes yes, I couldn't be bothered to spell it properly), and there was an awesome good ole homemade food style cafe opposite that did a full english. A proper huge full english. That cured all my hangovers :D

The parliament dome was amazing by the way, but you have to book about two weeks in advance as it's closed to general entry because of terror alerts.

Fucking hate continental breakfast. Cereal is not what your body needs in the morning after 10 litres of brau.

What you need is a Finnish breakfast(real, not new age hippie cereal sh*t) :p

Coffee/tea, plain/natural yoghurt with real fruit(preferably berries), cheese/ham/lots sammich(preferably bread roll) with muchos butter, or real manly rye bread. Perhaps a bun of some sort to finish the coffee off.

Anyhooo....looks like you had a blast in ze most efficient place in the world and indeed it is a lovely place, especially the people, very nice.

Indeed!!

An English breakfast is the only thing that will get you right for the day!
