There are plenty of "attachments" coming.

Depends if you are happy to fuck what is essentially a robot though...

Well if your missus fucks like a tranquillised sack of potatoes, surely a robot is an improvement?

I tried out the Dive VR headset with a samsung s6..jesus it was dreadful, the carboard google viewer is streets ahead in image quality and focusing/ distortion.

Got a mate who's a games designer. He says they've been experimenting with FPS's on VR tech and they're pretty much non-starters in their current form. The sort of quick movement in those games is giving people horrible nausea very quickly so unless you want a vomit simulator you have to slow things down so much that the experiences would be way too compromised.

I agree from a marketing POV it'd be killer, but if they have to nerf the game?

Don't know how the PS4 is going to do it - mate says anything below 90fps is awful and a single dropped frame jars horribly - and the PS4 is way shit tech...

It's coming with its own APU to handle the processing/graphics. I'd assume that means the PSVR will be standalone and won't require the ps4... but who knows.

Nice bit of extra weight then, GPU and gumf, batteries etc...or an annoying lead.

Ha, Sony, Ha

Imagine Amnesia with an Oculus Rift. You'd never eat Milky Ways again.

Imagine if it's basically £350 worth of processing power in the box with it, how much that's gonna add to PSVRs cost.

If they use either the AUX port that's for ps eye, or the ethernet port, you could essentially have a crossfire setup going for it... but that's just guesswork, and would add latency... which given PSVR is 120hz.. is doubtful.

I'll say £599 based on some of the chat I've been reading. Also matches the Euro prediction of Raven - there's quite often parity between £ and € in the camera world.

The general feeling is that they're going to take quite a hit on the Rift itself, losing up to $100 per unit. Some finance type thought that they'd sell it for $449 but that seems cheap to me.

When are we expecting next gen nvidia? I was to spunk cash all over my face with the Rift, but if 970 is minimum, I may as well wait (unless there's other options?)

I'm pretty much waiting for next gen nvidia/amd to upgrade my gpu, gonna slum it with my 970 until then.

Q3 at the earliest. Some exciting stuff coming this year from the red team as well. "Polaris", with 14nm FinFET...

Yeah, read about that yesterday. Going to wait and see to replace my 290x...was toying with the idea of going to the darkside and getting a 980 at Xmas but didn't bother in the end.

The 290x might just be enough for now if I was to be tempted (depends on price)

If they'd left the carry case, amp, dac, headphones and xbox one controller out they could've hit £399 imo :/
