I agree with Ono about the Wii, a memory I shall always treasure is watching my grandparents play tennis on the Wii and race cows.

I still find it strange that on Christmas day I played bowling & golf against my dad then on boxing day my mum & auntie played about 4 games of bowling in a row.

Only yesterday morning my dad comes down stairs and after about 10mins of watching some crap on tv tells me to get the golf on :)

A big well done to Nintendo I think.

I'm still trying to coax my gf into playing against me on the Wii tho :(

...and she bought me the bloody thing *sigh* (maybe I'm horribly competitive?)

I really hope they bring an old N64 title out called Blast Corps that game was freaking awsome.

People are already realising the retarded attitude of the internet towards Sony/PS3 is just that (retarded).

PS3 will speed up when MGS, FF, DMC, GT etc start to come out. The Wii will actually slow down due to a lack of good 3rd party games, the novelty of the controller wearing off, etc. The 360 unfortunately still has nothing good but shooters :|

just imo (I dont own any yet, nor will I until any of the 3 have more than 1-2 games worth buying)

Yep a big thumbs up to Nintendo for getting non-gamers involved. Can't shift my Mum off the bowling (she wants to be pro!) she was quite a bowler in her day but can't do it anymore due to health problems so this was a great thing for her - now when she gets up its my sisters turn on tennis :)

CAn't interest them in Guitar Hero on PS2 though :(

Wii is getting FF too ST.

It's getting crystal chronicles or whatever, not FF13, not FF Versus 13. Other consoles always got some form of FF (tactics, etc).

Don't be such a dolt, fanboy.

oi, there might be coming some more FF games for the Wii though. SE has announced FF III, XII and Crystal Chronicles for the DS.

Warioware is listed for 12th Jan, if you like that kind of mini game silly-ness (which is why we own a wii right?)

The sillyness of Rayman went down well at New Years as well.

The control is not a novelty, it is a vital part of the Wii experience and based upon my experience I think it will take something really special for the PS3 to over take it.

It IS a novelty. There's only so much you can do with it. Look at red steel and call of duty... it just doesn't work well. Nintendo will make a bunch of first-party games which make use of it, but after that, the Wii will be lacking titles big time.

Wii owners will be feeling a little left out when the PS3 and 360 are receiving mountains of great third-party games which do NOT rely on a gimmicky controller to push copies.

I hate fps on all other platforms (I own PC/360/PS2) and love Red Steel precisely because of the control system - I find it intuitive and easy to use.

Novelty or not, it doesn't feel like one and I can honestly say that some of the games in Raving Rabbids are the most fun i've had in ages, and that using it in Twilight Princess, despite effectively being a port, doesn't piss me off with the controls.

If anything, the remote makes the console 'feel' more interactive and is imo a damn good implementation of the motion sensor mojo. It's not perfect of course but hey.

It's almost like being able to use three analogue controls simultaeneously (The nunchuk sensor, nunchuk analogue stick and the Wiimote sensor) but that's just silly and I doubt that sort of control scheme would ever be used but hopefully you see my point, simply because it's a different type of controller doesn't automatically make it nought but a gimmick, used properly it's a damn good device (of course there's the rub, how often will that happen?).

Sony obviously recognise it's uses as they have various patents on devices very similar to the Nintendo implementation (in Sony's favour though the patent applications are dated for just before Nintendo unveiled the remote in 2005).

As for third party support, if the sales of the Wii continue as they are (and there's no reson for me to think otherwise) this is a no brainer. With it being far cheaper to develop for compared to the 360 and PS3 it would be silly to ignore the little white box simply because of a new type of control scheme, especially if what Namco says is true and PS3 games will need to sell 500k units simply to break even!

Betamax = technically superior to VHS.

And look what happened to Betamax...

Wii = fun, that's all I'm bothered about.

No I wont be feeling left out, because I prefer games that are fun to play with friends rather than sitting home alone locked in a room playing Metal Gear Solid.

Call of Duty was a mistake, they should have taken their time with the game like Madden for example and built it from scrath to work with the controllers.

For you to assume that 3rd party gaming companies do not want in on this new control technology would be fairly short sighted.

And please show me the mountain of good 3rd party games?

You're really happy that the Wii has pretty much already become a console for mini games? Wii Sports, Rayman, WarioWare, Mario Party.... heh.

I talk about third party games because there (believe it or not) isn't a whole lot you can do with the wiimote - you're forced to use motion sensing. You can't assume anyone has a classic controller, so you need to find a gimmicky way of playing (which actually won't suit most games). It's not that they don't want in, just that the controller isn't easily workable. Just for example, FPS will never really work - why bother using it to point if you can't actually AIM?

Can't aim as in the Wiimote is about as accurate as Stevie Wonder trying to hit a bullseye.

Not to mention the poor reaction speed.

lmfao please crawl back under the bush you came from, you have no clue at all.

I am not even replying to you any more because you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

missed this :) You are not forced to use motion sensor at all. Zelda could just as easy been a button to press to use the sword but by using the motion sensor it increases game enjoyment. Maybe its just me but I still cant ride passed long grass without cutting it down :p

I love the games that are out for the Wii at the moment, and I am looking forward to some proper Tennis and Golf games being released.

Developers are forced to use it, because if they don't, what point in a Wii release at all? Make your game for the PS2 with an installed base of more than 110 million units.

sorry but ps2 is way passed it, and I cannot recall the last time I actually thought about buying a game for it. it will be the same for the Ps3 Tomb raider unlimited or some other shit like GTA grand Canyon ;p And the Ps3 will not be achieving any where near those sales figures.

How is PS2 past it?

Hardware? A Wii fan can't say shit all about hardware :) Your argument is supposed to be that graphics mean nothing.

Games? You realise Okami, FF12, and God of War 2 are still to hit the UK (GoW2 the world..)? That's as good a lineup you'll ever see.

More than a million PS2's were sold over the holiday period :) You're right though, PS3 won't sell that many (or 360 or Wii). PS2 is an epic success.

Wow, what a suprise - fanboys arguing about which console is best/cures cancer/spreads genital warts.

You are both being fucking boring bastards, I had to listen to this shit with VCS vs Colecovision in 1980. Its quite old now ;)

Don't be tightass scrubber chumps - buy more than one and spend time playing the games rather than producing illiterate pseudo-PR waffle.

Now shoo, old men are trying to play Pong.

I'm not a fanboy, just saying the Wii kinda sucks :) Incidentally, the PS3 is the only console of the last 2 generations that isn't currently in my house :p
