Yes. At least in the uk. Before the advent of the coffee shop culture it was percolator or instant.

it's cool man, I know the UK isn't a coffee country. fun fact though is that I have been to places there to have tea which were just as ott, if not more so, than your average coffee place. ofc, I'm not talking about a Costa's or Starbucks because tbh if you would like to try a coffee avoid those places like the plague!

on topic: I've decided to get a different grinder. the one I have was great for quickmill pumps but this ECM just tears through it like a madman :D

Okay not really that nerdy or awesome but:

Had 55 of cashback sitting around as an amazon voucher that I'd forgotten about. Got fed up with the speed of my PC (it's well over 6 years old now, and despite my many BMAPC threads here since I've never committed cash to one), my work laptop is faster and that is very irritating.

Used the money to get a 120GB SSD, I've also done a fresh install of vista (don't laugh) as my OS hasn't been reinstalled in at least 4 years. Then did a windows 8 upgrade install (will only allow an install over the top of an existing windows install).

It feels like a bloody new PC again, I might even get it to just about play watchdogs now :D

Nah - I did all that because I've had the windows 8 upgrade collecting dust and I really like win 8 as an OS (Used it a lot at work), my Vista install was slow and very bloated. And SSD's are frankly awesome.

Oh boy, you're gonna be pissed if you did all that to play Watch Dogs.
Watch dogs was a fine game. They patched some bugs on it. Played 60 or more hours in it. Didn't come across one bug that stopped the game. The odd glitch maybe

Yeah I know. There was nothing inherently wrong with it but the whole "dialing back the settings to make the consoles look less shit" thing really tarnished the whole game for me.

It is a cost thing. I believe PC Games are the most pirated by a fucking long shot. So a lot of games are written on the Xbox then just ported to the PC and PlayStation aren't they? And you can understand it, why develop the game to and massively high spec at great expense when you know a lot of people will just pirate it.

I know every PC game I know of has at least one pirated game but the only console that my circle of friends have that is hacked is the Wii.

But they *did* develop it, that's the point. They spent all the time and money doing it and then thought "oh shit the PC version blows the next-gen console versions out of the water, we'd better fix that" so they crippled the PC version to bring it in line with how it looked for the peasants.

It's on a level with 2k absolutely destroying Mafia 2 so they could put all the bits that were in the original game into sellable DLC packs later on.

Unless someone has that game then I am dubious as there is no point in doing that. Spending the money to then throw it away is silly. But I have not seen the PC version as I got it on the PS4.

Everybody already has that game (on the PC), all you have to do is flick some switches in the config files and it is back to (or much closer to) the game that they showed off at E3 2012.
On June 7, 2014, a modder called "kadzait24" announced his discovery that not only were the original effects and graphical improvements shown at E3 2012 and 2013 still hidden within the game's files, but that re-enabling them caused very little loss in performance (some even reported performance improvements). kadzait24 released a patch enabling players to access these settings, bringing the game's graphics quality up to what was originally advertised
I imagine they set out to make it as awesome as possible and that's what got showed off at E3 2012 but then the specs for the new consoles landed and the people upstairs told them to scale it back on the PC so as not to make the consoles look shit.

That isn't actually true. Those settings didnt work that well, the mod is actually a lot of work and isn't as simple as flicking a switch.

I simplified it (a lot) but all that's left for the end user to do is install a 30KB (or whatever) patch to unlock all of the previously disabled eyecandy. I don't know what didn't work (I haven't gone back to the game for a good few weeks so there may have been developments) but it all seemed a lot prettier for me. Dynamic shadows in headlights and stuff like that.

It's a 124mb download, it's a lot of work, it is NOT as simple as "shit was left in, reenable it", the mod put a lot of stuff in the game, the settings being left there was just a jump off point for a Graphical Enhancement Mod.

There's a registry hack that lets you get around the whole update only bullshit, it just changes one key and voila, Win8 no longer gives a shit.

Ah ok, my bad. I was talking about the original TheWorse patch (v0.8 iirc). I've just done some reading and found all the stuff about the more recent versions and it does look much more complicated.

I guess it moves the screen as you move your head but if i want to see beside me I turn my head and I do t got a screen there so I have to keep my eyes front?

Is that how it works?

Yes, basically game stays on position it just provides the typical mouse look around, which always feels clunky to me. I have mounted the clip on my Razer Headset so don't have to wear a baseball cap :) Vids below show it tested and in use.
