Upgrading from 500 GB to 2 GB? That's ironically the sort of thing a console player would say. :)

I just ordered a TomTom 5000 I used one a few times this week and it was leagues ahead of CoPilot on my mobile. The Traffic alerts were great. I got sent some really stupid ways only to get there and find out the sensible route was blocked with a traffic jam. £149 on Amazon with £30 cash back. I used to use my mobile in a shitty mount but with driving about more and more this made sense to me.
How does it compare to google maps?
I use a combo of Copilot and Google maps, just seems such an expense to splash out £120 for something my phone does "good enough" ?

I have used it 3 or 4 times and I have not looked back. The traffic is great but the best part so far has been the lane assistant. It tells you in plenty of time what lane you want to be in. As in a mile or so before you need to be there. Co Pilot always told me the road I wanted and I had to check the sign sometimes with 400 yards left start moving over. The Traffic is great too and now I can add favourites via the web page I just leave it in my car at the office car park then plot my whole day send it to the device and away I go.

I have never relied on Google Maps as i lose Mobile Signal too much round some of our sites so I refuse to rely on online maps. While I am still being sent out one or twice a week it is well worth it if i end up using it once a year it could still be fine as it has life time maps and traffic with the built in SIM meaning traffic is free across Europe as well.

Learn to drive. Lane assist pfft.
First to admit I am not a great driver when going somewhere I do not know. I would rather know I need lane 3 a mile before I need it that 400 yards before I need it.

I usually get that from looking at the signs and the road. ;)
And that is ok if you have a sense of direction and know where you are going. I don't. I have no idea that at J27 I need to move into lane 3 for a A404 then then I need to miss the first turn off and take the second one. I have a sat nav for that. I can't even tell you the name of every road I drive on daily on the way to work. I am not built for directions. I look for the place by the thing not A Road just of B Road off junction 3 of C Road.

And I should say that with out Sat Nav I would need to print the directions because there is fuck all chance that I can remember a 2 hour journeys worth of turns while looking up a journey before going.

Almost done. The seatpost isn't the one I'll eventually be riding on (still waiting for that ) and the headset stack is a mess because I haven't yet decided how high I need the bars, but it's mostly built. Obviously no handlebar tape until I've been for a test ride, which will be soon.

Oh and the hallway is a mess because it's being redecorated.

Where's the bell?
I don't carry one. I call out to people instead. Tend to shout "ding ding".

When I used to have a bell I'd get a large amount of dirty looks - some people would actually shout at me for using it - because bells disturb people's calm in an impersonal way (if it disturbed them at all).

Now I get a much more positive experience when asking people to move. Apart from the odd angry bell-end who shouts at me for not having a bell "because it's the law" - despite the point of a bell being to warn people of you coming up behind them. And they're always the sort of cunt who'd complain about the bell anyway.

So ding ding, followed by most people laughing or smiling it is :)

The bell ends the one who sits on the seat. Lol

Oh totes hilair!!! How ever did you come up with that?

Dropped my phone today. For like the billionth time. This time it stopped working :(

Had to go out at lunchtime and buy a replacement as I was expecting a call from an agent. And, frankly, I need a phone.

@Bodhi - you'd be proud m8 - I bought an orange one of these. I know they're not the newest but it's still pretty cool. :)
